The episode is officially titled “Is That Blood in Your Hair,” and CBS lists its air date as October 9, 2024. CBS’s episode listing.
What happens in Episode 4?
The episode puts two kinds of danger in view: the risk of revealing what you are doing and the risk of trusting the wrong person with a plan. Sue’s idol hunt creates a visible clue at Tuku; at Lavo, Kishan’s plan against Rome reaches Rome before it can succeed. CBS’s synopsis also sets up a reward-and-safety challenge followed by a journey in which one castaway from each tribe faces a consequential decision. CBS’s official synopsis.
Why does Sue have red paint in her hair?
Sue Smey finds an immunity idol at Tuku, but spills red paint while retrieving it. The marks prompt Tiyana to ask whether there is blood in Sue’s hair. Sue offers an explanation for the mess, but the paint creates a social risk: it may draw attention to an idol search she would rather keep private. The episode recap reports that Sue’s idol is valid through the final five. Episode recap.
The discovery gives Sue protection, but keeping that protection secret is part of the challenge. The paint is an unintended signal; anyone who connects it to an idol hunt could begin asking questions about what Sue found and how she might use it.

How does Kishan get voted out?
At Lavo, Sol is unsettled about where he stands after the previous vote, and Teeny admits she voted against him. Kishan then tries to organize a move against Rome with Genevieve and Sol. Genevieve tells Rome about the plan, allowing him to act first. He uses his Steal a Vote advantage against Kishan, and Kishan is eliminated at Tribal Council. The episode recap describes the sequence; the True Dork Times boxscore records the vote as 4–0. Episode recap; True Dork Times boxscore.
Kishan’s plan is proactive, but it depends on keeping the target and the intended allies aligned. Once Rome learns what is coming, his advantage helps him control the vote. The episode’s sharpest strategic reversal is not simply that Kishan targets Rome; it is that Rome hears about the move early enough to answer it.

The challenge offered both reward and safety. Gata won two live egg-laying hens, while second-place Tuku received six eggs, according to TV Insider. The outlet connected the return of live chickens to host Jeff Probst’s On Fire podcast; no direct quote is needed to understand the camp payoff. TV Insider’s reward report.
For the tribes, the reward is immediate food and a change to camp life. The journey decision, by contrast, carries potential strategic consequences, as CBS’s synopsis notes. The available episode synopsis does not specify the decision’s outcome, so it should not be treated as a confirmed turning point here.
