A deleted scene from the April 18, 2024 episode of Survivor 46 shows Maria Shrime Gonzalez questioning Ben Katzman about the missing Siga immunity idol after Tim Spicer’s departure. Maria suspects Ben’s renewed effort to spend time with her and Charlie is tied to Tim being gone; Ben denies having an idol and says he feels misunderstood. The scene is described in Dalton Ross’s Yahoo Entertainment report.
Why Maria questions Ben about the missing Siga idol
As Dalton Ross recounts the deleted scene, Maria approaches Ben on the way to the water well and asks whether Tim went home with Ben’s idol. The question follows the idol’s disappearance from the game: according to the report, Jem Hussain-Adams had left it behind in her pocket.
Ben says he had no idol. When Maria asks whether Tim had one, Ben replies that he does not think Tim did. The exchange does not resolve what happened to the idol; it captures Maria testing Ben’s account and Ben denying that he possesses one.
Maria confronting Ben: a dispute about trust and timing
In a confessional, Maria says, “Someone’s a hundred percent being dishonest.” She says she gave Ben a chance to tell her something believable. Later, she challenges his renewed outreach to her and Charlie, suggesting he wants to spend time with them now that his close ally Tim is gone.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Maria’s interpretation is that Ben’s timing looks convenient. Ben’s response is that he is being judged for something he says he did not do. The scene presents those competing readings, not independent proof of either player’s motives.
Ben says he feels misunderstood
Ross describes Ben as visibly upset. Ben says he is devastated and insists, “I’m not a liar.” Charlie eventually comes over to comfort him. The moment shifts the scene from an idol question to the emotional cost of being suspected in a game where deception is part of the strategy.
