Who were the Super Bowl 2024 announcers?
The main CBS booth pairing was Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. CBS’s event announcement identified Nantz as the play-by-play announcer and Romo as the game analyst. Its full crew also included three sideline reporters and a rules analyst.

CBS Sports’ January 16, 2024 announcement listed the event crew. The Kansas City Chiefs’ game-day guide also named the CBS personnel, and official Sports Emmy credits later listed several of the event’s broadcast roles. The Emmy credits use “event analyst” for Steratore; CBS’s event-specific lineup identifies his role as rules analyst.
What does each role mean?
Play-by-play and game analysis
Nantz described the action as it unfolded, while Romo provided analysis of the game. When people ask who was “commentating” or who was in the broadcast booth, these are the two names they usually mean.

Sideline reporting and rules analysis
Wolfson, Washburn and Feely reported from the sidelines. Steratore offered rules analysis; he was not one of the sideline reporters.
Was it Nantz and Romo’s first Super Bowl together?
No. CBS said Nantz, Romo and Wolfson were working their third Super Bowl together in 2024. The release’s wording refers to that three-person group; it does not mean every member of the full CBS crew had the same shared Super Bowl history.
Which broadcast does this answer cover?
This lineup is for CBS’s standard English-language telecast of Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs–San Francisco 49ers game on February 11, 2024. Other coverage had different personnel: the event also had a Nickelodeon alternate presentation, Spanish-language SAP coverage and separate radio broadcasts. Contemporaneous coverage from Axios described the Nickelodeon format and streaming options at the time. Those details are historical; they do not mean the 2024 game is available as a live event now.

The Chiefs beat the 49ers 25–22 in overtime. After the game, Nantz called it “one of the greatest games of all time and the longest Super Bowl game of all time,” according to the Associated Press. The result and postgame remark are context; Nantz and Romo were the CBS booth announcers regardless of the outcome.
