The available official film synopsis places the story around the World Warrior Tournament in 1993; it does not say the movie adapts Street Fighter 6. Capcom’s April 2023 announcement called Street Fighter 6 the newest entry in the game series at that time and listed its release date as June 2, 2023, but that announcement does not connect the game to the film’s story.
