StreamYard’s published limits for prerecorded streams to YouTube are 2 hours and 10 GB on Core, 4 hours and 25 GB on Advanced, and 8 hours and 25 GB on Teams or Business. The feature is unavailable on Free. These are limits on the prepared video file, not on how long a live broadcast or its recording may run.
Prerecorded video limits by StreamYard plan
StreamYard’s official plan table and prerecorded-streaming guide give these maximums. “Unlimited” in the scheduling column means the number of prerecorded streams you may have scheduled at once; it does not mean unlimited video duration.

These are StreamYard plan limits, not YouTube plan limits. The figures are listed in StreamYard’s Pre-recorded Streaming guide and file limits table; Free-plan availability is also confirmed in its Free-plan feature limits.
Which plan fits your video?
Core: videos up to 2 hours
Choose Core if each prerecorded video is no longer than 2 hours and no larger than 10 GB. It allows up to five prerecorded streams to be scheduled at once.

Advanced: videos up to 4 hours
Advanced raises the maximum duration to 4 hours and the maximum file size to 25 GB. It allows up to 10 prerecorded streams to be scheduled at once.
Teams or Business: videos up to 8 hours
Both plans list an 8-hour maximum and 25 GB file limit, with unlimited prerecorded streams schedulable at once. The guide’s use of “unlimited” concerns concurrent scheduled streams only; it does not remove the 8-hour or file-size cap.

Free: prerecorded streaming is not included
StreamYard’s Free plan does not include prerecorded streaming. A paid plan is required for this feature.
File requirements and output quality
StreamYard’s guide specifies MP4 files with H.264 video encoding, a maximum bitrate of 10 Mbps, and output up to 1080p for paid plans. A file that meets the duration limit can still exceed the plan’s size limit, so check both before scheduling. If an export is rejected, verify its container, video codec, bitrate, duration, and file size rather than relying on the filename extension alone.

How scheduling and YouTube links work
Automatic playback
Once scheduled, StreamYard can start the prepared recording at its scheduled time even if you are not online. During playback, it is not a controllable live studio: you cannot show comments on-stream or operate overlays and media assets. Comments remain viewable on the destination platform.
When the YouTube watch link appears
If you schedule an announcement post, the YouTube shareable link is created at the announcement-post time. To have a link earlier, set an earlier announcement time. Without an announcement, the destination’s watch-page link is not available until the prerecorded stream goes live.

Scheduling lead time has conflicting official guidance
StreamYard’s general prerecorded-streaming and destinations articles say streams can be scheduled up to 365 days ahead. Its Business Plan Details page instead states a 90-day maximum for Business. Because those official statements conflict, do not rely on either number as definitive for Business; check the current account scheduling interface or confirm with StreamYard support before planning far ahead. The duration above is the length of the prerecorded video StreamYard sends as a stream. It is not the same as ordinary live-stream hours, the length of a live-broadcast recording, or a promise about YouTube’s own recording behavior. StreamYard’s separate live-streaming guidance says paid plans have no StreamYard-side limit on live-streaming hours, though destination platforms may impose limits; it lists recording limits for live broadcasts of 10 hours on Core, Advanced, and Teams, and 24 hours on Business. Those recording figures do not increase the prerecorded-video caps in the table. See StreamYard’s live and recording limits.

Prerecorded output is no longer automatically saved to the StreamYard library. This refers to the output of prerecorded streaming; it does not mean other original StreamYard content is removed.
Prepare or change a scheduled stream
StreamYard’s prerecorded-streaming workflow supports replacing the video before the scheduled stream goes live and ending an active prerecorded stream early. Verify the replacement file against the applicable plan’s length and size caps and the accepted MP4/H.264 format before relying on it. Consult the official workflow guide for the current controls.
