For scheduled prerecorded broadcasts, StreamYard’s plan table lists a 10 GB and 2-hour limit on Core, 25 GB and 4 hours on Advanced, and 25 GB and 8 hours on Teams and Business. Prerecorded streaming is not listed as available on Free. There is an important exception: two other official StreamYard help pages say Advanced allows 10 GB, not 25 GB. If that limit affects your upload or plan choice, check your account or ask StreamYard support before relying on either figure.
Scheduled prerecorded-stream limits by plan
StreamYard’s dedicated file-size and length limits table gives these plan limits:

*Advanced has conflicting official documentation: the dedicated limits table lists 25 GB, but StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream guide and recommended-formats page state 10 GB. Both other pages agree on the 4-hour duration. The pages do not explain the difference or establish which size is currently enforced. Confirm with StreamYard or check the current account interface if your file is larger than 10 GB.
What counts as a prerecorded stream?
These caps apply when you schedule an unattended prerecorded broadcast: select an uploaded video or a previous recording, choose destinations and a scheduled time, then create the broadcast. It begins at the selected time and ends when the video finishes.

Sharing a video inside a live studio is different
StreamYard’s local video-sharing feature lets you play a file from your computer during an active studio session. Its studio video-sharing guide states no file-size or duration limit for that feature. That does not mean you can schedule an unattended broadcast of any size or length: it is a separate workflow. MP4 and MOV work best, and shared files are removed if you exit or refresh the studio.
Video clips have separate limits
Media assets used as video clips are subject to different limits from scheduled broadcasts. StreamYard’s help page lists clips as under 200 MB and under 10 minutes, or up to 1.2 GB and 60 minutes on Business. Do not use those clip limits to estimate the maximum size of a scheduled prerecorded stream.

Prepare a file StreamYard can upload and stream
Meeting the plan’s size and duration caps is only part of upload preparation. StreamYard recommends MP4 or MOV for video-library uploads, H.264 video, AAC audio, and a maximum bitrate of 10 MB/s. Its recommended-formats guide and optimization guide also recommend constant 30 fps, web optimization (faststart), and aligned audio and video.
- Container: MP4 or MOV.
- Video codec: H.264.
- Audio codec: AAC.
- Bitrate: no more than 10 MB/s, as specified by StreamYard.
- Frame rate and playback: constant 30 fps, web optimization/faststart, and A/V alignment are recommended in StreamYard’s optimization guidance.
These are format and encoding recommendations, not substitutes for the plan’s file-size or duration limits. StreamYard warns that large files can take a long time to upload and suggests compressing them with a tool such as HandBrake. Its optimization guide describes a HandBrake conversion workflow for bringing a file within supported settings.

Check these limits before choosing a plan or uploading
- Confirm the workflow. Decide whether you are scheduling an unattended prerecorded broadcast or sharing a file during a live studio session. Only the scheduled broadcast uses the plan caps above.
- Check the video duration and file size. Compare both against your plan; meeting one limit does not compensate for exceeding the other.
- Resolve the Advanced size discrepancy if relevant. The dedicated table says 25 GB, while two other official pages say 10 GB. If your upload is over 10 GB, verify the current enforced limit with StreamYard before relying on the higher figure.
- Check the file encoding. Use the recommended container, codecs, bitrate and playback settings, and compress the file if needed. Encoding changes can affect visual quality, so review the converted file before scheduling.
