If your Talk Studio broadcast is missing from your YouTube channel, first check YouTube Studio → Content → Live. Look under Live Now, Upcoming and Live Replay, then confirm the event is on the intended channel and has the visibility you expect. If it is absent there too, check Talk Studio’s YouTube destination and channel setup before troubleshooting the connection.
These checks can identify whether the stream is scheduled, private or unlisted, ended, connected to another channel, or never started. Without access to your channel and event details, there is no way to determine which applies to a specific broadcast.
Find the stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio while signed in to the Google account that owns the intended channel.
- Go to Content → Live.
- Check each status group: Live Now for an active broadcast, Upcoming for a scheduled event, and Live Replay for an ended stream with a replay listing.
- If the event is upcoming, open the Live Control Room and inspect its details. A scheduled stream is not the same as an active broadcast; YouTube may show it to subscribers as upcoming, with an option to be notified.
A missing listing on the public channel page alone does not prove that Talk Studio failed. Use Studio’s event status to choose the next check.
Use the status to choose the next check
| What you find | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Live Now in Studio, but not visible on the public channel | Confirm the selected channel and whether the event is public. Private and unlisted streams are not public channel listings. |
| Upcoming | Check the scheduled event in Live Control Room. It has not necessarily started yet. |
| Live Replay | Open the ended event and check the replay’s availability and processing state. |
| No matching event in any group | Verify the Talk Studio destination and intended account, then check YouTube live-stream eligibility and Talk Studio’s setup prerequisites. |
| An encoder or connection error | Follow the connection troubleshooting path below. A visibility change will not fix a stream that never connected. |
Confirm Talk Studio is connected to the right YouTube channel
Talk Studio calls linked social accounts Destinations. Streamlabs’ setup guide routes you through the account icon, Account Settings → Destinations → Add Destination. Confirm that the YouTube destination shown there is the channel where you expected the broadcast to appear.

If several social accounts use the same email address, Streamlabs notes that you may need to log out of the wrong account domain before reconnecting so you can select the intended account. Check the channel identity in YouTube as well as the account used to connect the destination; matching email addresses alone may not establish that the correct channel is selected.
Check YouTube’s Talk Studio setup prerequisites
Streamlabs’ Talk Studio destination guidance says to verify the YouTube channel, start an initial webcam stream from YouTube Studio, and wait 24 hours after that initial stream before going live to the channel from Talk Studio. Streamlabs says to make the initial test stream unlisted so it does not appear in public channel search results. That instruction is for the setup test; it does not mean a later Talk Studio broadcast should be unlisted.

If the stream is in Studio but viewers cannot find it
Check both the channel and the event’s visibility setting. YouTube supports Public, Private and Unlisted streams. A private or unlisted event may exist in Studio without appearing as a public listing on the channel. Also check whether you are viewing the same channel to which Talk Studio sent the broadcast.

If no event appears or Talk Studio cannot connect
First confirm that Talk Studio is connected to the intended YouTube destination. Then use the error shown in Talk Studio to distinguish an account or destination problem from an encoder connection problem.

YouTube’s encoder troubleshooting guidance says that, when an encoder reports an error, you can open Live Control Room, go to Stream, copy a stream key and update the encoder with it. Apply this only if your Talk Studio connection actually uses a stream key or exposes an encoder configuration; do not assume every Talk Studio login works this way. Never post or send a stream key publicly. If you sign in to third-party streaming software without entering a stream key, YouTube directs you to that software’s support team.

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. In YouTube Studio, check Content → Live → Live Replay for the ended event. Whether a particular replay is available, or has finished processing, must be checked on that channel.
