The figures were reported in late December 2025, after series co-creator Ross Duffer posted them on Instagram.
Episode-by-episode runtimes
Part 2 is episodes 5 through 7 of the season. Volume 1 covers episodes 1 through 4, so the numbering continues into Volume 2. The reported lengths are:

Episode 6 is the longest of the three, running seven minutes longer than Episode 5 and nine minutes longer than Episode 7. Episode 7 is the shortest. The average episode in Part 2 runs about 70 minutes (209 divided by three).
Total viewing time
The 3-hour-29-minute total is a sum of the three reported figures, not a number Netflix published. If you are planning to watch Part 2 in one sitting, budget a little over three and a half hours including credits and any pause before the final episode.

What “Part 2” covers and when it was released
Netflix released the final season in three blocks. Volume 1 contains four episodes. Volume 2 contains three episodes and was released at Christmas. The series finale was scheduled separately for New Year’s Eve. When people refer to “Part 2,” they mean the three-episode Volume 2 block, not the finale.
Each release went live at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, according to Netflix’s schedule. Because that single moment falls on different calendar days around the world, the dates depend on where you are. Netflix’s Tudum release schedule lists the following:

If you cite a date, name the region with it. Otherwise a reader in one country may see a different day than the one you intended.
Where the runtimes come from
Netflix’s official schedule covers release dates and blocks, but the episode lengths above come from press coverage that cites Duffer’s Instagram post. Two outlets reported the same figures:
- TheWrap published the lengths on December 22, 2025, attributing them to Duffer’s Instagram post.
- What’s on Netflix reported the same values and credited the same post.
Two limits apply. First, the coverage does not include a direct quotation from Duffer about the runtimes, so the figures should be presented as reported values rather than his words. Second, these are figures from December 2025 reporting. They are not a current listing taken from Netflix’s title pages, so check the episode details on Netflix if you need the exact length the platform displays today.

The finale is a separate release and is not part of the 3-hour-29-minute figure. Its length is reported differently by different sources: Netflix’s Tudum finale article gives 2 hours 5 minutes, while TheWrap and What’s on Netflix report 2 hours 8 minutes. Because of that disagreement, this article does not state a finale runtime.
