The theme, “Hello kitty,” points to cat coat colors and patterns. The six theme words were:

How the July 13 spangram and hints work
Try Hard Guides describes Strands as a word-search-style game: theme words are hidden in a letter grid, and the spangram describes the theme, spans opposite sides of the grid, and is highlighted in yellow. Its coverage also says players can earn a hint for each three qualifying non-theme words found.
