Who made *Disclosure Day*?
Spielberg directed the film and created its story; David Koepp wrote the screenplay. Koepp recalled Spielberg’s initial pitch this way: “Oh, you know, aliens again. But different this time.” Amblin Entertainment; Associated Press.
In the AP interview, Spielberg described the genre distinction in personal terms: “It’s my first film that will be considered science fiction that I do not consider to be science fiction.” He also said: “Until I’ve seen a UAP or a UFO with my own eyes, I’m not going to categorically state that life from out there has come here.” He said he was open to changing his mind based on what he called circumstantial evidence. When does it come out, and what formats are listed?
Universal lists the theatrical date as June 12, 2026. Its home-entertainment fact sheet says digital availability began July 21, 2026, and lists an August 25, 2026 street date for physical editions.
