Do you need to read every earlier Holly book first?
The sequence above is the best fit if you want Holly’s character history in publication order. The available source descriptions establish that she recurs across these stories, but do not establish how much prior knowledge a reader needs to follow Never Flinch. So it is safest to treat the full order as a way to follow her arc, not as a prerequisite checklist.
What to know about Never Flinch
In the novel, Holly helps Detective Izzy Jaynes investigate a letter threatening mass murder. At the same time, she is hired to protect Kate McKay, a women’s rights activist targeted during a multi-state lecture tour. The publisher and the Associated Press both describe the book’s dual-case structure.
