Starbucks Red Cup Day 2025 took place on Thursday, Nov. 13. At participating U.S. Starbucks coffeehouses, customers who ordered a qualifying handcrafted holiday or fall drink could receive a free grande (16-ounce) reusable red cup, while supplies lasted. The offer has ended; Starbucks’ announcement covers the 2025 event and does not establish a date or offer for 2026.
How the 2025 giveaway worked
To qualify, customers needed to order any size of a handcrafted holiday or fall beverage, hot, iced, or blended where offered. Starbucks said the promotion applied at participating U.S. locations and was available for café and drive-through orders, through the Starbucks app, and through Starbucks delivery on DoorDash, Grubhub, or Uber Eats. Starbucks’ Nov. 12, 2025 announcement said cups were available while supplies lasted.
The announcement does not specify a per-customer or per-order cup limit, or provide a way to check a particular store’s inventory. Participation and stock could therefore vary by location.

What was the free cup?
The giveaway was a grande (16-ounce) reusable red cup. Starbucks described the 2025 cup as made with 95 percent recycled material; that figure is the company’s description, not an independent lifecycle assessment. The hand-drawn illustration was credited to Starbucks designer Yvonne Chan, who said the design was inspired by “the little moment of magic you feel when you step into a Starbucks from the cold outside.” Starbucks’ announcement includes the cup details and Chan’s attribution.

Reusable-cup benefits in the 2025 announcement
Starbucks also said customers who brought a clean reusable cup—whether the red giveaway cup or another cup—received a 10-cent beverage discount. The announcement said Starbucks Rewards members earned double Stars on their entire order under the described benefit. These were benefits stated for the 2025 announcement, not a guarantee of current policy. Starbucks’ Nov. 13, 2025 press announcement also described the clean-cup discount and noted the event tradition dates to 2018.

No current availability follows from the 2025 promotion terms. Red Cup Day 2025 was a one-day event with cups limited by supply, and Starbucks’ cited announcements do not establish whether any store still has a cup or whether the giveaway will return in 2026.
