Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection released on Steam on March 13, 2024, and is available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and PC via Steam. It bundles the original Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II—not the later EA-developed games. The official Steam listing and StarWars.com reported a US price of $35.01, but storefront prices can vary by platform, region, and sale.
Release date and platforms
Steam lists March 13, 2024, as the collection’s release date. StarWars.com published its launch article on February 21, 2024, with a March 7 date shown for the article and a March 14 update; that article described the collection as available. These are different page dates, so March 13 is the date shown on Steam’s release listing.
The collection is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through Steam, according to StarWars.com’s platform announcement. Steam identifies Aspyr as the developer and publisher.
Playable heroes and villains
The collection includes two classic games, each with its own playable characters and battles. Official descriptions highlight heroes such as Mace Windu, Yoda, and Luke Skywalker, alongside villains including Darth Maul, General Grievous, and Darth Vader. These are examples, not a complete roster. Xbox’s product description names those characters.
#1 Best Overall
Battlefront II also includes bonus heroes Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto. The collection’s previously released bonus content includes Jabba’s Palace for the first game and four maps for the second: Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel, and Yavin 4: Arena. The full additions are listed in StarWars.com’s announcement and on the Steam store page.
Price: check the store for your platform and region
The official Steam listing displayed $35.01, and StarWars.com reported the same US-dollar price in its launch/update article. This is an observed price in those sources, not a guaranteed current price for every platform or region. Check the relevant store before buying; the available information does not establish a current price comparison across platforms.

Hero Assault is expanded to all ground maps, including Death Star, Kashyyyk, Kamino, and Naboo, as noted in the Xbox description. The Nintendo product feature also describes its online and offline play.

What to check before buying
- Confirm you are selecting the Classic Collection, which contains the original 2004 and 2005 games, rather than a later Battlefront title.
- Choose the version for your platform and verify the price shown in your region’s store.
- If multiplayer is your main reason to buy, distinguish the advertised 64-player maximum from any assumption about current player numbers.
