It is no longer an upcoming season: the official television page now lists the complete run through MISSION:50. The latest clearly dated promotional video found in the official archive was the Bus Hijack Arc PV, announced on November 1, 2025, ahead of that arc’s November 8 broadcast start.
That distinction matters. The September 9, 2025 main trailer promoted the season before launch; the later November video was still a Season 3 promotion, not a Season 4 announcement.
The confirmed Season 3 release schedule
The official August 31, 2025 announcement set the Japanese television premiere for Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 23:00 JST. The listed terrestrial broadcasters were:
- TV Tokyo
- TV Osaka
- TV Aichi
- TV Setouchi
- TV Hokkaido
- TVQ Kyushu
BS TV Tokyo began its broadcast on October 5, 2025. The official notice also warned that broadcast times could change, so the listed time should be understood as the announced Japanese schedule rather than a universal release time for every country.

- Factory sealed DVD
The official Season 3 page listed streaming availability beginning at 23:30 JST on October 4, shortly after the television broadcast. It names services including Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu and U-NEXT, among others. Those listings are tied to regional licensing: viewers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and other territories should check the current catalog of the service available in their country rather than assume that every platform carries the season everywhere. The official Season 3 page is the best starting point for the Japanese availability list.
Season 3 has finished airing
For readers finding the original release-date headline later, the status has changed. As of August 12, 2026, the official television page lists episodes from MISSION:38 through MISSION:50, ending with MISSION:50, “A World Where We Cannot Survive.” The page no longer presents Season 3 as a forthcoming broadcast.
That makes the accurate present-tense summary: Season 3 premiered in October 2025 and completed its listed television run with MISSION:50. Later announcements about broadcast stations, distribution and the May 2026 Anime EXTRA MISSION II event should not be confused with a new premiere date or a newly announced season.
What the main trailer revealed
The official site posted the Season 3 main trailer on September 9, 2025, several weeks before the premiere. It introduced the season’s promotional setup and featured the ending theme, “Actor,” by Lilas Ikuta.
The trailer is useful as a pre-premiere overview, but it should not be described as the latest Season 3 video today. The official Season 3 page also gathers several other pieces of promotional material, including:
- a Lloyd backstory PV;
- non-credit opening and ending videos;
- a music special movie; and
- the Bus Hijack Arc PV.
The page does not provide one consolidated, date-ordered “latest promo” label. The safer way to establish the chronology is to use the dated news archive: the November 1, 2025 announcement is the latest clearly dated Season 3 promotional-video announcement identified in the official archive.
The latest dated PV: the Bus Hijack Arc
On November 1, 2025, the official site announced the Bus Hijack Arc PV. It again used Lilas Ikuta’s “Actor” and promoted the arc’s broadcast beginning on November 8, 2025.
Calling this the “latest promo” requires a precise qualification: it was the latest clearly dated Season 3 PV located in the official archive, not a trailer for a new season. Nothing in the cited announcement supports calling it a Season 4 teaser. Fans should also avoid treating the display order of videos on the television page as proof of upload chronology.
Season 3 music
The official site identifies Spitz’s “Hi o Mamoru” (“Protect the Light”) as the opening theme and Lilas Ikuta’s “Actor” as the ending theme. “Actor” is specifically associated with both the September main trailer and the November Bus Hijack Arc PV.
The music rollout was therefore part of the season’s broader promotional campaign, alongside the non-credit videos and music special movie listed on the official television page.
Returning cast and production context
SPY x FAMILY follows the central Forger family, whose identities are hidden from one another in different ways: Loid Forger is an undercover spy who creates a false family for Operation Strix; Yor is secretly an assassin; and Anya is secretly telepathic. The family arrangement drives the series’ combination of espionage, comedy and domestic misunderstandings.
The official television page credits:
- Original creator: Tatsuya Endo
- Director: Yukiko Imai
- Series composition: Rino Yamazaki
- Character design and chief animation direction: Kazuaki Shimada
- Animation production: WIT STUDIO × CloverWorks
Crunchyroll’s premiere report also identified WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks’ returning production arrangement, with Yukiko Imai taking the director role for Season 3 and Kazuaki Shimada continuing with character designs. Crunchyroll reported that its service carried the earlier seasons and the SPY x FAMILY CODE: White film, subject to regional availability.

Where to watch Season 3 now
There is no single worldwide streaming answer. The official Japanese listing names Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, U-NEXT and other services, but catalog rights vary by territory and can change after the original broadcast.
- Identify your country or territory.
- Search the local catalog of the services listed for your region.
- Check that the listing is for Season 3, not only the earlier seasons or CODE: White.
- Confirm subtitle and dub options before subscribing or renting.
Do not treat the Japanese 23:00 television time or 23:30 streaming time as a guaranteed local release time. Time-zone conversion alone does not establish that a platform has licensed the season in a particular market.
Physical releases and ways to collect the season
For viewers who want to own the season rather than stream it, the official site lists dedicated Season 3 Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 Blu-ray/DVD releases. The official Vol. 2 information gives a May 20, 2026 Japanese release date. Buyers outside Japan should verify edition language, region compatibility, import status, subtitles, seller identity and current stock before ordering; the cited sources do not verify current U.S. inventory or authorization for particular retailers.
A natural collector option is the SPY x FAMILY Season 3 Blu-ray, with the Japanese edition clearly identified where relevant. A separate volume listing may be described as the Season 3 Vol. 2 Blu-ray/DVD. Physical media is optional: it is not required to watch the season through a licensed streaming service.
Read the manga and companion books
Readers who want to compare the anime with Tatsuya Endo’s source material can use the official VIZ catalog. It lists the licensed English-language manga, current paperback volumes, The Official Anime Guide—Mission Report: 221001-1224 and The Official Coloring Book.
VIZ lists SPY x FAMILY manga Volume 1 as a $11.99 paperback released June 2, 2020. Its catalog also lists Volume 16 with a September 1, 2026 release date. Because manga publication and anime adaptation do not always align one-to-one, this article does not assign a specific manga chapter as the exact continuation point after MISSION:50 without separate verification.
For collectors, the official SPY x FAMILY anime guide is a reference-style companion, while the SPY x FAMILY coloring book is an optional activity or gift item. Neither is necessary to follow Season 3.
