Morales,” later names Shameik Moore, and refers only vaguely to a “recent interview or social media post.” The result also gives incompatible or outdated release timing. Without a checkable original statement, it does not establish that Moore gave a new update.
The TechYorker result should therefore be treated as an unverified headline, not confirmation of a new actor announcement.

Production remarks reported in March and July 2026
SYFY WIRE reported on March 3, 2026, that the film remained in production ahead of its planned June 18, 2027 release. Miller said the team was driven by the challenge of making a film worthy of the previous two and of creating something viewers had not experienced before. Lord described the creative process as giving the team room to experiment and make mistakes, adding that they were “going hard.” These were remarks reported in March, not an October production bulletin.
In a GamesRadar+ report published in July 2026, Miller said the team was “deep, deep in it,” working in the edit room and that the film was “coming together really well.” This is a dated account of his comments, not a same-day confirmation of the production’s status.
