Sony Pictures Animation names Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson as directors. That makes the older “No Release Date” headline out of date.
When does Beyond the Spider-Verse come out?
Sony Pictures Animation currently lists June 18, 2027 for the U.S. theatrical release. Sony’s May 19, 2026 CinemaCon report gives the same date and says the film is arriving in theaters worldwide in 2027. Sony Pictures Animation’s film page and Sony Group’s report are the latest official date references in the sources reviewed.
Why some reports say June 4, 2027
Sony announced June 4, 2027 in 2025. Its current film page and 2026 report instead list June 18, so June 4 is a superseded date, not a second release still awaiting confirmation.
Who is directing the film?
Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are co-directing Beyond the Spider-Verse, according to the current Sony Pictures Animation listing and Sony’s CinemaCon report.
