Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film, was released on July 31, 2026. The official synopsis teases an unseen villain but does not identify that threat as Venom. A February 2026 report on leaked promotional images named several apparent villains; it did not establish a Venom role or confirm the final film’s plot.
What is the Spider-Man 4 plot and villain leak?
In a February 16, 2026 report, TechRadar said leaked promotional material appeared to show Scorpion, Boomerang, Tarantula, and Tombstone. The character identifications were interpretations of images circulating through merchandise and promotional channels—not an official Sony announcement or proof that each character appears in the finished film.
The report fueled speculation about a Venom connection, but its reported character list does not itself establish one. The original leak’s full provenance is also not established by the available reporting.
Who is the villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Sony’s official synopsis describes Peter Parker fighting crime in a world that does not remember him. It says a transformation in Peter may be the only thing that can stop “a powerful villain no one can even see.” The synopsis does not name that unseen threat as Venom. Sony’s film page also includes an official FAQ about characters such as William “Bill” Metzger, Frank Castle, Jean Grey, and Bruce Banner; those character details should not be confused with a confirmation that Venom is the synopsis’s unnamed villain.

Does Spider-Man 4 connect to Venom?
The official Sony information reviewed here does not confirm a Venom appearance or a Venom plotline in Brand New Day. Sony’s separate Venom film page describes Eddie Brock becoming host to an alien symbiote, but that description concerns the separate film, not a connection to Brand New Day.
In July 2026, GamesRadar reported Tom Holland recalling that Sony had planned to merge its Spider-Man universe with the MCU, but the plan did not come to fruition. That is franchise-history context, not evidence that Venom appears in this film. GamesRadar’s report does not turn the earlier plan into confirmation of a present-day story connection.
