South Park Season 27’s planned July 9, 2025 premiere was pushed back two weeks, to Wednesday, July 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Comedy Central announced the new date on July 2 but did not explain the change. The season has since aired; its official episode page lists five episodes through September 24, 2025.
What was the Season 27 announcement?
Comedy Central first announced on April 2, 2025 that Season 27 would premiere July 9. On July 2, the network revised the date to July 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT—a two-week shift. The July 2 announcement gave no reason for the change, so claims about what caused it are unconfirmed.

The word “devastating” is headline framing, not a description used in Comedy Central’s notice. The announcement concerned the premiere date; it did not say the series had been canceled or that the entire season was postponed.
When did Season 27 premiere, and what were its episode dates?
Season 27 premiered on July 23, 2025. South Park Studios’ official Season 27 page lists five episodes:

- July 23, 2025
- August 6, 2025

Where does Season 27 fit in South Park’s streaming plans?
In a July 24, 2025 announcement, Paramount Global, Park County, and South Park Digital Studios described a five-year renewal that included 50 new episodes and all 26 previous seasons. The release said new seasons would debut on Comedy Central and arrive on Paramount+ the following day; it also described Paramount+ as the U.S. home for the series library. Read the Paramount Press Express announcement for the terms as stated at that time.
