Comedy Central reportedly removed a scheduled rerun of South Park’s “Got a Nut” from its rotation after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025. The episode satirized Kirk through Eric Cartman; some conservative voices online blamed the show for Kirk’s death. The available reporting establishes a scheduling change and an accusation—not that the episode caused or contributed to the killing.
Which South Park episode was pulled?
The episode was “Got a Nut,” which originally aired on August 6, 2025, according to contemporaneous coverage. Its satire included Eric Cartman parodying Kirk’s debate style.

On September 11, ABC reported that Comedy Central had pulled a recent episode from its rotation after Kirk’s killing, describing it as a rerun featuring the Cartman parody. The report concerns a scheduled broadcast in the network’s linear rotation; it does not establish a permanent ban or removal from every platform.
What happened, and when?
- August 6, 2025: “Got a Nut” originally aired, according to contemporaneous coverage.
- September 2, 2025: South Park Studios announced a new episode for September 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. This was a schedule notice, not an explanation of the later rerun decision.
- September 10, 2025: Kirk was fatally shot at a public event in Utah.
- September 11, 2025: ABC reported the rerun’s removal from Comedy Central’s rotation.
- September 12, 2025: Euronews, citing AP reporting, described conservative voices online blaming South Park.
Did South Park cause Kirk’s killing?
The reporting cited here does not establish that the episode caused or contributed to Kirk’s killing. The fact that the episode and the scheduling change occurred around the time of the shooting is not evidence of a causal connection. The online blame claim is a reported reaction, not a finding about motive or responsibility.

The accusation should also be kept in scope: reports describe some conservative voices online making it, not all conservatives. No named statistic or quantified estimate in the cited coverage establishes how widespread the reaction was.
What is known about Comedy Central’s decision?
ABC reported that a scheduled rerun was pulled from Comedy Central’s rotation. The sources cited here do not include a direct explanation from Comedy Central, so they do not establish why the network made the scheduling change. Nor do they show that the episode was permanently banned.

A report distinguished cable reruns from streaming availability, but the episode’s current streaming status has not been verified. A linear-TV scheduling decision should not be taken as proof that the episode is unavailable on streaming services.

As reported by the Associated Press, Kirk’s friend Andrew Kolvet recalled Kirk saying of being parodied by South Park: “It kind of goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve.” This recollection concerns the parody; it is not a statement about the later rerun decision.
