Sorrento Beach Club was announced as a summer pop-up for Sorrento Quay, Hillarys, with a planned opening date of 9 November 2025. It later operated under that name for a year before its operator, ELG Australia, rebranded the venue as The Waterfront in September 2026.

PerthNow reported on 16 October 2025 that Sorrento Beach Club was scheduled to open on 9 November 2025. The announcement described a seasonal venue rather than a permanent new name for the site. The launch report described a menu mixing pub classics with Mediterranean dishes. Examples included baked feta with honey, tuna carpaccio with ouzo dressing, chicken and lamb gyros, crispy calamari and steak sandwiches. Drinks were to include Western Australian wines, cocktails, beer and cider on tap. PerthNow reported plans for live DJs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It also reported planned service seven days a week from 11:30 a.m., with coffee and snacks from 8 a.m. Those hours and entertainment details were reported for the pop-up launch and are not verified as the current schedule. What is Sorrento Beach Club called now?
In September 2026, ELG Australia announced that the venue had become The Waterfront after a year operating as a summer pop-up. The operator said the refreshed concept would be a year-round destination with a stronger focus on sport, entertainment and pub-style food, including additional screens, pool tables, live entertainment and events. The operator described the change as a shift in identity and emphasis, not a move to a new location. Its announcement says the venue is open every day but does not give a specific current opening-hours schedule. Check the venue’s own current channels for hours, reservations and what is on before visiting; the launch-era menu and DJ schedule should not be assumed to continue.
