Sophie Dillman’s return to Home and Away and her trip to Mandurah for Crab Fest were both announced for March 2025—not as new plans for 2026 or 2027. Dillman reprised Ziggy Astoni, alongside Patrick O’Connor as Dean Thompson, in a storyline that began airing on 10 March 2025. Her reported Crab Fest appearance was scheduled for 15–16 March 2025. The City of Mandurah now lists the next festival for 13–14 March 2027, but its current listing does not announce Dillman as a guest.
What did Sophie Dillman’s Home and Away return involve?
In a PerthNow report published on 9 March 2025, Dillman and O’Connor were reported to be returning to the series about two years after leaving. Dillman reprised Ziggy Astoni and O’Connor reprised Dean Thompson. Their return storyline began airing on 10 March 2025. PerthNow’s report said the storyline was filmed in Queensland the previous October.
As described in that interview, the plot brings Levi and Mackenzie into contact with Ziggy and Dean, before escaped prisoners kidnap Mackenzie and Ziggy. These are details reported at the time, not confirmation of a permanent cast return.
Did Dillman say she would return again?
Yes, she expressed interest in another opportunity to return to Summer Bay. PerthNow quoted her saying, “I want to be Marilyn when I grow up!” That was an expression of enthusiasm, not an announcement that she had been cast again.

When was Sophie Dillman due at Mandurah Crab Fest?
The PerthNow article reported Dillman was headed to Mandurah for the festival weekend of 15–16 March 2025. The dates refer to that past appearance; they do not establish that she will attend a future Crab Fest.
The City of Mandurah describes Crab Fest as a free regional festival featuring fresh food, live music and entertainment. Its current Crab Fest page lists the next event for 13–14 March 2027 and says program and lineup announcements are still to come. Dillman is not named on that listing, so a 2027 appearance is not confirmed there.
