Is there one Metal Sonic or an army?
The scene shows multiple Metal Sonic robots, which raises the possibility that the film’s threat is a group rather than a single rival. But it does not explain whether one machine leads the others, whether they share a design or purpose, or how many exist beyond the scene.
Who made them, and who do they answer to?
In the games, Metal Sonic is a robot created by Dr. Eggman. That makes Eggman an obvious candidate for a film connection, but the movie’s scene does not name a creator or show the robots taking orders. Their presence alone cannot confirm an Eggman plan or point to another character taking his place.
Will Sonic 4 adapt Sonic CD?
Metal Sonic and Amy Rose both made their video-game debut in Sonic CD, giving fans a natural game reference for theories about the movie’s next chapter. SEGA describes Metal Sonic as a “super advanced robot created by Dr.Eggman” on its official Sonic Origins page. Director Jeff Fowler has discussed choosing characters for the series, supporting the general idea that such appearances can set up future films; those comments do not confirm a particular Metal Sonic storyline.
