The omission is specific to this episode: available reporting does not establish whether the anime introduces her later.
Who is missing from Episode 5?
The omitted character is Yoo Soohyun, Jinho’s cousin. ComicBook.com identifies Chapter 67 as her manhwa debut and describes her as an actress and model. The introduction is a lunch meeting with Jinho, a scene that detikPop also reports is absent from the anime episode.
Episode 5 is titled “This Is What We’re Trained to Do.” Rotten Tomatoes lists it as Season 2 Episode 5, with an air date of February 2, 2025. Using the season-and-episode label avoids confusion with coverage that also calls it Episode 17 overall. Rotten Tomatoes episode listing.
What happens in the manhwa, and what does the anime show instead?
| Version | What the sources establish |
|---|---|
| Manhwa | Yoo Soohyun is introduced in Chapter 67, according to ComicBook.com. The reported scene has her meeting Jinho for lunch; detikPop describes the restaurant as one he had previously visited with Jinwoo. |
| Anime, Season 2 Episode 5 | Soohyun’s lunch introduction is not shown. The episode instead follows Jinwoo joining Captain Son Ki-hoon’s team for a dungeon operation and the hunters’ encounter with orcs, as described in But Why Tho?. |
The difference is an episode-level omission: the anime uses this episode for the dungeon team plot rather than the interpersonal introduction. That comparison does not explain why the adaptation made that choice; the cited coverage supplies no creator or production comment giving a reason.

Was Soohyun cut from the anime completely?
That is not established. ComicBook.com reports that by Season 2 Episode 6, the anime had reached Chapter 75, beyond Soohyun’s reported Chapter 67 debut. This supports saying her introduction was skipped at this point, but it does not prove that she will never appear in a later episode. The evidence available here does not settle whether her scene is relocated or restored later.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why does the omission stand out?
Soohyun’s scene gives Jinho an introduction to a family connection outside the immediate dungeon action. Episode 5 instead centers on the hunters accompanying Jinwoo and the contrast between his apparent rank and his actual strength. That makes the difference between the source scene and the adaptation clear without implying that the scene was removed from the entire series.
