The event combined a designer runway with fundraising for the WA AIDS Council (WAAC) and its health, community-support and advocacy work.
What was STYLEAID PHOENIX?
STYLEAID was a Perth fashion fundraiser created to raise awareness and support for people living with HIV/AIDS. Its 2025 edition, STYLEAID PHOENIX, marked the event’s return after a seven-year hiatus and coincided with WAAC’s 40th anniversary. STYLEAID was first held in 1997, according to OUTinPerth’s July 8, 2025 report.
The fundraiser supported WAAC, whose work includes supporting people living with HIV and LGBTIQA+ people. The event’s fashion focus gave that community fundraising a public, celebratory setting.
When and where was the event?
STYLEAID PHOENIX took place on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Crown Ballroom on Great Eastern Highway in Burswood, Western Australia. The Humanitix event listing scheduled it from 6:30 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. AWST and now marks the event as passed.

What happened at the fundraiser?
The evening centred on a spring/summer designer runway, alongside a three-course meal and Western Australian wine and beer, as described in the event listing. PerthNow’s social gallery names local designers Meraki, Zhivago, Empire Rose and C Design among those featured.
PerthNow also recalled earlier STYLEAID runway appearances by models Gemma Ward, Nicole Trunfio and Jess Gomes. Those names provide a sense of the fundraiser’s place in Perth fashion history; they are not a list of performers at the 2025 edition.

How much has STYLEAID raised?
Published cumulative totals differ because they describe the amount reported at different points in the event’s history. PerthNow reported in 2017 that STYLEAID had raised more than $1.5 million since its 1997 inception. In 2025, OUTinPerth reported that the fundraiser had raised more than $2 million for WAAC over two decades. These dated figures are not competing estimates of a single undated total.
Before the 2025 event, PerthNow reported a 500-guest cap, general-admission tickets at $350 and VIP-table seats at $500. Those were announced prices for the past event, not current ticket offers.

What organisers said about the return
In OUTinPerth’s July 8, 2025 report, Mark Reid, STYLEAID creative director and WAAC deputy chair, said: “We’re thrilled to bring it back in 2025 with a sophisticated, immersive experience that not only celebrates fashion but shines a light on WAAC’s mission to challenge health inequities in our community.”
WAAC CEO Dr Daniel Vujcich said in the same report: “Events like STYLEAID help us do more—reaching new audiences, raising vital funds, and continuing to advocate for those who need it most.”
