The Mother’s Day episode cast Cecily Strong as Pirro, Colin Jost as Hegseth and James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, according to a report published the following day.
Which SNL sketch does the headline refer to?
The headline refers to the cold open from Saturday Night Live’s May 10, 2025, episode, hosted by Walton Goggins. Who played Pirro, Hegseth and Trump?
A May 11 report identifies Cecily Strong as Jeanine Pirro, Colin Jost as Pete Hegseth and James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump. The Wrap’s report on the sketch describes Trump introducing Pirro as a pick for his administration, followed by Pirro’s reference to Hegseth as an old drinking buddy.
What was the drinking-buddy joke?
In the reported scene, Strong’s Pirro says, “Oh, I love Pete Hegseth, he’s my old drinking buddy,” and the gag continues with a flask and a wine spit-take. The line belongs to a scripted comedy sketch. It is not evidence that Pirro and Hegseth have a real-life drinking relationship or that the scene documents actual conduct.
Where can you watch it?
