Allison Mack’s first reported public comments about NXIVM since her 2023 prison release appear in Allison After NXIVM, a seven-episode CBC Uncover podcast released November 10, 2025. In the series, the former Smallville actor acknowledges abusing her power and harming people while describing motives she says included wanting to help others. Her account is one perspective on the case—not a substitute for its legal record or for the experiences of people harmed.

What Allison Mack said about her role in NXIVM

In coverage of the podcast, the Los Angeles Times quotes Mack saying, “I don’t see myself as innocent.” She also described her acting success as “a power tool … to get people to do what I wanted.” The same report quotes her saying, “I was not kind and I was aggressive and I was abusive.” (Los Angeles Times)

Mack also spoke about wanting to help and grow. That explanation is her account of her motives; it does not undo the harm she acknowledged. ABC News quotes her reflecting, “I was trying to heal sexual trauma. And then I turned around and was someone who was supporting it.” ABC reports that she connected this realization to why it took her a year to plead guilty. (ABC News)

What the podcast is—and what it is not

Allison After NXIVM is a CBC Uncover podcast series, not a new on-camera interview. Its seven episodes revisit Mack’s path from television actor to NXIVM member, her role in recruiting and pressuring women, her guilty plea, and her reflections after prison. The reporting describes these as her first public remarks about NXIVM since her release in 2023. (Los Angeles Times; ABC News)

How Mack’s account fits the legal record

NXIVM was the organization led by Keith Raniere; DOS was a secret subgroup within it. Vanity Fair describes DOS as a hierarchy in which women were labeled “masters” and “slaves,” and reports that Mack recruited women for Raniere. Other coverage describes her using her celebrity status to recruit. These are descriptions of the group and her conduct, not a complete account of every person’s experience. (Vanity Fair; The Guardian)

ABC News reports that Mack was arrested in April 2018 on charges including sex trafficking, sex-trafficking conspiracy, and forced-labor conspiracy. In 2019, she pleaded guilty to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy, admitting that she manipulated women into becoming “slaves” for Raniere. Raniere was sentenced to 120 years in prison in 2020. Mack received a three-year federal prison sentence and a $20,000 fine in 2021, and was released in 2023 after serving 21 months. (ABC News)

What former members have said

Former DOS members’ perspectives are distinct from Mack’s retrospective account. Vanity Fair reported that Sarah Edmondson and India Oxenberg expressed hope for Mack’s healing, while Jessica Joan spoke of seeking healing, truth, and closure for those harmed. The former members had not yet listened to the podcast when Vanity Fair asked them, so their comments should not be read as reactions to its episodes. (Vanity Fair)

The Guardian reports that Mack recalled telling a woman to comply with Raniere’s demands and described the resulting coercion as “like rape.” This is Mack’s reported recollection in the podcast coverage, not an independent finding about that episode. (The Guardian)

What is reported about Mack after prison

In connection with the podcast, the Los Angeles Times reported that Mack was pursuing a master’s degree in social work, considering PhD programs in expressive arts therapy, and working at a nonprofit bringing creative arts programming to prisons. The article also reported that she married Frank Meeink and contacted journalist Vanessa Grigoriadis after her release to tell her story. These are details reported alongside the 2025 series, not confirmation of her current status. (Los Angeles Times)
