No reliable source ranks ten films as the greatest skin-flick parodies, so this guide does not offer a numbered top ten. What the evidence supports is a short, sourced set of films that parody or rework the skin-flick and adult-film tradition, each placed by type rather than by quality. The phrase “skin flick” covers several different film traditions, so the first task is defining what counts.
What “skin flick parody” can mean
The label is used loosely, and a film can fit more than one category. Four traditions are worth separating:

- Direct spoof: a mainstream comedy that imitates the conventions of porn or adult trailers.
- Satirical sexploitation: a film that uses the look and frankness of 1960s and 1970s skin flicks to satirize sex, Hollywood or both, without being a straight genre send-up.
- Comic sexploitation: a film made within the skin-flick industry that leans on slapstick and parody.
- Self-reflexive adult film: a sexually explicit work that reworks the conventions of its own genre.
Keeping these apart matters. A sketch in an anthology comedy and a feature-length adult film that interrogates its own genre are not the same kind of evidence, and treating them as equivalent would overstate what the record shows.

#1 Best Overall
| Film | Year | Relationship to skin-flick conventions | Format | Basis for the classification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Kentucky Fried Movie | 1977 | Direct spoof of porn and porn trailers, through the segment “Catholic High School Girls In Trouble” | Anthology comedy; the spoof is one sketch | The Guardian, “Turn the parody up to 11” (2025) |
| Carry On Emmannuelle | 1978 | Named as a mainstream porn spoof | Feature film | The Guardian (2025); film-specific detail on how far it parodies the genre is not established by this source |
| Beyond the Valley of the Dolls | 1970 | Satirical sexploitation; not established as a direct parody of skin flicks | Feature film | A contemporary review in The University Daily, July 17, 1970, p. 2, which describes the film as satire |
| Skin Flick (also released as Skin Gang) | 1999 | Pornography that reworks the genre from within | Feature film; sexually explicit | MoMA program record; ACMI collection record; Cinémathèque québécoise filmmaker profile (Bruce LaBruce) |
Notes on each type
The Kentucky Fried Movie: a sketch, not a feature
The film’s porn-trailer send-up is one segment of a multi-part comedy. It is the clearest mainstream example in the sources, but it should be described as a parody segment. Presenting the whole film as a skin-flick parody would claim more than the evidence supports.
Carry On Emmannuelle: named, but thinly documented
The Guardian names this 1978 British comedy as a porn spoof. The sources reviewed for this guide do not say how much of its comedy targets the adult genre specifically, so it is listed as a candidate rather than a confirmed model.
Rank #2
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls: satire with a skin-flick look
A 1970 review in The University Daily describes the film as a satirical skin flick that mocks sex and Hollywood alike. That description places it near the genre without establishing it as a parody of skin flicks. It is a useful adjacent case for readers interested in how the sexploitation style was borrowed for satire.
Skin Flick (1999): the genre reworked from inside
Bruce LaBruce’s film is pornography, and it is also a reworking of the genre. The Museum of Modern Art describes it in those terms, and the Cinémathèque québécoise places it among the filmmaker’s sexually explicit, pastiche-oriented works. It is the one entry in this list that is an adult film by design, so it belongs in the discussion only if the definition includes self-reflexive adult cinema.

Russ Meyer and The Immoral Mr. Teas: context, not a parody pick
RogerEbert.com’s 2012 essay “King of the funny skin flicks” examines the comic and parodic side of Russ Meyer’s work, and it discusses The Immoral Mr. Teas (1959) as a formative skin-flick title. Some encyclopedic summaries describe that 1959 film as commercially successful and influential, but that priority claim was not verified against primary references, so this guide does not repeat it as settled. The film is useful background for the genre, not a verified parody.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why this is not a ten-film list
Ten films would require at least ten sources that each identify a film as a skin-flick parody and compare it against the others. The available sources do not do that. Filling the remaining slots with adult-themed comedies or pornographic spoofs of unrelated franchises would require a broader definition, and each addition would need its own citation. Readers looking for a ranked list should treat any such ranking as an editorial opinion rather than an established canon.
Rank #4
If you want to pursue the subject, start with the Guardian piece for mainstream spoofs, the MoMA and Cinémathèque québécoise records for the LaBruce film, and the 1970 University Daily review for the satirical strand. Those sources cover the four traditions above with the least guesswork.
Use the definition at the top of this guide to decide which films belong on your own list. The examples above can be checked against the sources named for each entry.
