Spoilers for the season-one finale, “The Real Good Guys.” At Attin survives Jod’s pirate takeover, but only because its children and families lower the Barrier that had kept the planet isolated. New Republic X-wings arrive, the pirates retreat, and At Attin’s separation from the galaxy ends. Jod survives, while his next move remains unknown. The series’ official coverage places the story in the New Republic era—the same broad period as The Mandalorian, not a precisely established episode-by-episode slot.
What happens to At Attin in the Skeleton Crew finale?
Jod returns to At Attin with the children and poses as a Republic Emissary. The false identity gives him a way to approach the Supervisor and the planet’s Mint, whose wealth he wants to seize. When Fern exposes the lie, Jod destroys the Supervisor and disables the planet’s systems, clearing the way for his pirates to attack. The official episode guide describes his continued impersonation and the families’ effort to stop the takeover.
The children and their parents choose to bring down the Barrier rather than preserve the isolation that has kept At Attin cut off from the galaxy. Once it falls, New Republic X-wings can reach the planet. The pirates retreat, and At Attin avoids conquest. The official recap frames the change as At Attin becoming part of a much larger galaxy.
The ending confirms the immediate rescue and the end of At Attin’s long isolation. It does not explain how the planet will govern itself, rebuild its disabled systems, or adapt to contact with the wider galaxy.

Who is Jod, and what happens to him?
Jod has genuine Force abilities, but he is not presented as a Jedi in good standing. In the finale, he says a Jedi found him as a hungry street child and began training him. Order 66 interrupted that training. His childhood explains how he learned to use the Force; it does not excuse his threats against the children and their families or his attempt to take At Attin’s wealth.
Jod is still alive after the takeover fails, and the finale leaves his future unresolved. It does not establish that he is redeemed, captured, or killed. The Wrap’s finale recap also reports his account of his interrupted training and shows him remaining in the tower after the pirates’ defeat.

When does Skeleton Crew take place?
Skeleton Crew takes place in the New Republic era, the same broad period as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. Series co-creators Jon Watts and Chris Ford state that era in an interview with StarWars.com; the official finale guide likewise labels its era “The New Republic.”
That places the shows in the same general chapter of Star Wars history, but it does not provide an exact year or a specific position for Skeleton Crew relative to every season or episode of The Mandalorian. The available official statements support a shared era, not a detailed viewing order.

How is Skeleton Crew connected to The Mandalorian?
The clearest direct connection is Vane, the pirate. Watts confirms that the character was carried over from season three of The Mandalorian into Skeleton Crew. That establishes a character crossover; it does not, by itself, mean the shows share a central plot or that one is a direct continuation of the other.
Ford described the series as “the story of kids who happen to live on what they think of as a boring planet.” The line captures the show’s child-centered perspective: the New Republic era and its familiar characters form the backdrop, while the story follows the young people of At Attin and the consequences of their planet’s isolation.
