Add Sky Striker for a swinging, rotating pendulum ride or Giant Drop for a straight-down fall. This is a practical shortlist based on each ride’s type and documented features—not an official park ranking. Check the park app on the day of your visit because attractions and availability can change.
Which rides should you prioritize?
Great America is a 300-acre park between Chicago and Milwaukee. Its homepage advertises 17 roller coasters and three children’s themed areas, so a first visit need not revolve around coasters alone. The picks below cover distinct sensations and ride types; choose according to what your group enjoys and can ride.
Wrath of Rakshasa: a dramatic dive
Choose Wrath of Rakshasa if you want a face-first pause followed by a 171-foot plunge. The park identifies it as a custom Bolliger & Mabillard dive coaster, making it the clearest pick here for a dramatic drop and inversions. Check its official page for current requirements.
Raging Bull: a long, varied steel-coaster ride
Raging Bull is described by the park as its tallest and longest coaster: 202 feet tall and 5,057 feet long. Its listed features include a steep first drop, hills, hard banking, and a curved helix. It suits visitors looking for an extended sequence of coaster elements rather than a ride defined chiefly by one launch or dive.

Goliath: a wooden-coaster change of pace
Add Goliath for a wooden-coaster option alongside the two steel coasters above. Its inclusion is about variety of ride type, not a claim that it outranks other coasters. The park’s 2025 guide lists it, but that dated guide does not confirm current operation; check the app before planning around it.
Sky Striker: swing and rotation without coaster track
Sky Striker swings through 130-degree arcs while rotating. It offers a different sensation from a track-based coaster and has a posted minimum height of 52 inches, according to the park listing.

Giant Drop: a vertical-fall option
Giant Drop is the shortlist’s drop-tower choice. The park lists a 227-foot tower, a 62 mph drop, and a 48-inch minimum height. It may appeal to guests who want a brief, direct fall rather than a longer coaster ride.
How to choose for your group
| Ride | Type and signature sensation | Posted minimum height in available listing |
|---|---|---|
| Wrath of Rakshasa | Dive coaster; face-first pause and 171-foot plunge | Check the official ride page |

| Goliath | Wooden coaster; a different coaster type from the steel picks | Not stated in the cited 2025 guide |
| Sky Striker | Rotating pendulum; swinging arcs | 52 inches |
| Giant Drop | Drop tower; vertical fall | 48 inches |
The height figures above are not a complete restriction chart. Confirm each attraction’s current rules on its official page and at the posted entrance sign. Other restrictions may apply.

- For a big coaster day: start with Wrath of Rakshasa and Raging Bull, then include Goliath if it is operating.
- For varied thrills: pair a coaster with Sky Striker or Giant Drop rather than choosing only track rides.
- For a mixed-age group: check each rider’s eligibility before setting a ride order. The park advertises three children’s themed areas, but the available listing does not establish which specific children’s rides suit a particular age or height.
Check operating status before you build a ride order
The park says attractions and availability may change without notice and directs guests to its mobile app for current information. The 2025 park guide and map are useful for identifying rides, but they are not live status sources. Check the app on your visit date, then adjust your plans for closures and line conditions; no live wait times or official ride ranking are established here.

The park homepage advertises Camp Timber Trail and suspended family coaster Sky Hawk as new in 2027. They are future additions, not options to include in a 2026 visit plan.
