Single’s Inferno reached Netflix’s Global Top 10 across three seasons, with chart runs lasting from three to five weeks. The numbers show sustained international viewing; Netflix credits the show’s cast, panel, romantic stories and format twists for its appeal, but those explanations are not independent proof of what caused its success.
What is Single’s Inferno about?
Netflix describes Single’s Inferno as a Korean reality dating show in which singles are stranded on an island called Inferno. Contestants can leave for romantic dates in Paradise as couples. On Inferno, resources are limited; Paradise offers a more comfortable setting and time for couples to explore their connection. How did the show perform on Netflix’s Global Top 10?
Netflix’s published chart record documents multiweek Top 10 runs for Seasons 1, 2 and 3. The figures below are Netflix-reported results, not a complete measure of total audience size or long-term popularity. Netflix did not report every metric in the same way for every season.

Netflix also said Season 4 had the franchise’s strongest first-week viewership when it announced the Season 5 renewal in February 2025. The announcement provides no comparable viewing figure, so it supports only that relative claim. Netflix’s Season 5 renewal announcement.

Why does Netflix say viewers are drawn to it?
Netflix attributes the show’s appeal to “bold and charismatic” singles who spark conversation, the emcee panel’s commentary and chemistry, romantic arcs, and format twists. Those are the distributor’s explanations, not findings that isolate the cause of the chart results. The ranking record confirms that the seasons performed on Netflix’s charts; it cannot tell us how much any one element contributed.
The panel named by Netflix includes Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Da-hee, KYUHYUN, HANHAE and Dex. Its commentary gives viewers a second perspective on contestants’ choices, alongside the dates and relationships unfolding in the show. The Inferno-to-Paradise contrast also makes romantic progress visible: a pairing can change not just who spends time together, but where they get to go.

Netflix offered one example of how the cast can attract attention beyond the episodes: it said Choi Hye-seon’s social-media following rose from just under 2,000 to 1.6 million, an 825-fold increase, as of January 19, 2024. The cited announcement does not identify the platform, so the figure should not be assigned to a particular service. Netflix’s announcement.

Netflix’s chart placements provide concrete evidence that the show drew enough viewing to rank internationally in the weeks reported. They are not a direct explanation of why viewers watched, nor a full account of its audience over time. The figures come from Netflix announcements, and the platform’s descriptions of the show’s appeal are promotional. The available evidence does not establish how much broader interest in Korean entertainment, social-media recommendation systems, audience demographics or release timing affected the results.

Where the franchise stands now
Netflix announced on December 23, 2025, that Season 5 would premiere on January 20, 2026. Its current Tudum page lists five seasons, and Netflix has also confirmed Season 6. The sources cited here do not provide a comparable Season 5 chart result. Check Netflix’s official catalog page for current availability in your region, since catalogs and release details can change.
