The season continues the intertwined story of Yoshii Toranaga and John Blackthorne. Disney’s November 13, 2025 announcement described the setting as ten years after season 1, while its March 24, 2026 update said it takes place more than a decade later. Both describe the series as a historically inspired saga.
When is season 2 coming out?
No premiere date has been announced in the official updates described by Disney. Hulu’s August 11, 2025 guide also said the release date had not yet been announced. Disney’s March 24, 2026 update reported that production was underway in Vancouver, but it did not give a release window. Production timing alone does not establish when the season will premiere.
