The show’s wedding-planning world places Jazz among wealthy clients, while the character’s own background gives her a different social position. Raghuvanshi’s account is useful for understanding how she approached that contrast, but it is her interpretation of the role rather than a production fact or a critical consensus.
How Raghuvanshi interprets Jazz
Raghuvanshi resists the idea that Jazz is simply trying to join the elite by pretending to be someone else. “She doesn’t want to be anyone else – she wants to create a space for herself,” she told Scroll. That framing makes Jazz’s movement through affluent settings an effort at self-definition, not just imitation.

As she put it: “Like Karan, Jazz too has many shades. She’s a different person in different environments, with different people. She goes back home to a completely different space.” The contrast between the wedding business and Jazz’s home life, in Raghuvanshi’s view, is part of what gives the character her different sides.
Finding the character in the script
Raghuvanshi said she found Jazz through the script and drew on the people and surroundings she knew. She has also spoken about the need to understand the character’s motivations in the story’s darker circumstances. That distinction matters: relating to Jazz did not mean treating every choice as an extension of the actor’s own life. It meant working out why Jazz behaves as she does in each environment.
A separate interview with The Indian Express that same day offers a similar summary of Raghuvanshi’s view: “She is just trying to make a space for herself. Never does she try to be someone she is not.” The article also asked whether the series could come across as misogynistic. Raghuvanshi disagreed, describing it as empowering and pointing to the strength of its women characters; that is her assessment of the show, not a definitive verdict. The Indian Express interview.
What Titli meant in her earlier work
Scroll identifies Titli (2014) as Raghuvanshi’s film debut. The interview’s pairing of the film with Made in Heaven offers a view of two points in her career: an early film role and the character that brought her wider recognition with audiences. The source does not establish further production details about Titli, so the significance here is its place as her debut, as reported in that interview.
