The device on his left arm lets him switch between human form and Smart Hulk; Banner later heals the injury with a treatment he develops after studying Jennifer Walters’s blood.
Does She-Hulk take place before Endgame, or is Bruce’s arm healed?
Neither detail means the series is set before Avengers: Endgame. In its August 18, 2022 report, BGR places the episode in mid-2025, nearly two years after Endgame. That is BGR’s reported chronology; it was not independently confirmed by an official Marvel or Disney source in the available account. BGR’s episode-one explanation recalls that Hulk’s right arm was injured when he used the Infinity Stones and that he appeared in a sling afterward, including in Shang-Chi.

What does Banner’s left-arm device do?
The device is for changing forms, not repairing the injury. BGR describes Banner using it to move between his human form and Smart Hulk. His right arm remains injured at this point in the episode, so the gadget should not be mistaken for the cure.
How does Jennifer Walters help heal the injury?
After a car accident, Jennifer’s blood comes into contact with Banner’s. She transforms into She-Hulk. BGR says Banner studies her blood and finds that she metabolizes gamma radiation differently. In the report’s account, Jennifer remains herself and can control her transformations; Banner then uses what he learns from her blood to synthesize a treatment that heals his arm.
What is confirmed about Jennifer’s blood—and what is speculation?
The blood’s role in Banner’s treatment is part of BGR’s explanation of the first episode. The article also speculates that Jennifer’s blood could attract the interest of other MCU characters.
