The website launched on August 6, 2024, with three newly presented songs alongside studio footage, rehearsals, photographs and other archival content. A separate three-song release appeared on Apple Music later that month. Here are seven reported details that show what the archive contained—and what its clips revealed.
1. The website organized the material around Drake’s career
The Canadian Press reported that 100gigs.org launched on August 6, 2024, with 40 folders named for album releases and significant moments. The files were dated March 7 through June 8, though the report did not specify the year for those dates. The project was described as a 100-gigabyte dump, but that figure is a reported label, not an independently audited measurement. The Canadian Press, via CityNews Toronto and Pitchfork covered the launch.
2. Three songs were placed in a folder called “New”
The initial “New” folder included “It’s Up,” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage; “Housekeeping Knows,” featuring Latto; and “Blue Green Red.” Those tracks were the archive’s newly presented music, distinct from the older career material elsewhere on the site. The Canadian Press and Pitchfork identified the songs.
3. The archive was more than a music drop
Coverage described a trove of visual and behind-the-scenes material, including music-video footage, tour rehearsals, studio clips, photographs and other documentation from Drake’s career. That made the site an archive as well as a place to hear the three new tracks: its appeal was in seeing fragments of how songs, performances and projects took shape. The Canadian Press and Pitchfork reported on the visual material.

4. “Hotline Bling” had a personal origin story
In footage discussed by Complex, Drake said he had saved a former partner’s name in his phone as “Hotline Bling,” and that the nickname inspired the title. Complex also reported footage in which Drake considered whether Future might appear on the song. These are details from Complex’s review of the clips, rather than independently verified production records. Complex quoted Drake: “So I saved her name in my phone as ‘Hotline Bling.’ That’s always been her name on my phone.”
5. “Too Good” was about Serena Williams, according to Drake in archive footage
Complex reported that clips identified “Too Good” as a song about Serena Williams. In the footage, Drake described making songs about women as also making songs for them, and said he expected Williams to understand the message while recognizing its lightheartedness. The interpretation and quotations here are attributed to the footage as described by Complex. Complex quoted Drake: “When I make songs about women, I also make songs for them,” and, “I know Serena very well, and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear, but she’ll also not hate me for it, because it is lighthearted.”

- Drake clarified the lyric in “Know Yourself” as “You know how that should go.”
- Dark Lane Demos was initially conceived as Care Package 2.
- “Talk Up” came together late in the process.
These are observations Complex reported from the archive clips, not claims supported here by separate production documentation. Complex describes them in its review.

Together with the alternate plans and late assembly of other songs, these moments offered a partial view of the practical decisions behind Drake’s catalog, rather than a complete or definitive account of how each recording was produced. Complex reported these examples from its archive review.

Yes. Apple Music lists a three-song, nine-minute release titled 100 GIGS, dated August 23, 2024. Its listing credits ℗ 2024 OVO under exclusive license to Republic Records, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc. That catalog release came after the August 6 website launch, so the two dates refer to separate releases. Apple Music’s listing documents the streaming release.
