Kennedy model, SSH131 (Japan reference SBXC131), and the Chris Redfield model, SSH129 (Japan reference SBXC129). Seiko says each is limited to 600 pieces worldwide; its Japan store allocates 300 of each to Japan and listed both as unavailable when checked. The Japan-listed prices were ¥319,000 for Leon and ¥330,000 for Chris, including tax.
Which watch represents Leon and which represents Chris?
The collaboration comprises two character-specific designs. Seiko says Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield appear in the computer-animated film Resident Evil: Death Island wearing Astron models created for the film. Both collaboration watches are GPS Solar models powered by Caliber 5X53.
| International reference / Japan reference | Character | Design | Japan store price and status when checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSH131 / SBXC131 | Leon S. Kennedy | All-black titanium case, titanium bezel with city codes, gray-based dial and black calfskin strap. Seiko specifies blue-glowing LumiBrite on the indices and hands. | ¥319,000 including tax; listing marked unavailable. |
| SSH129 / SBXC129 | Chris Redfield | Titanium case and bracelet, angular bezel, and gray-green dial with an asphalt-inspired texture. Seiko specifies blue-glowing LumiBrite on the indices and hands. | ¥330,000 including tax; listing marked unavailable. |
The reference numbers differ by region: Seiko’s international collaboration page uses SSH131 and SSH129, while its Japanese store lists SBXC131 and SBXC129. Both backs carry the Resident Evil: Death Island title logo, a “Limited Edition” marking and an individual serial number.
How limited are the watches, and how much do they cost?
Seiko states that each model is limited to 600 pieces. The Japanese store identifies 300 pieces per model for Japan. Its listed prices are domestic Japan prices, including tax—not global prices or a guide to resale value. The store pages were marked unavailable when checked; that status applies to those listings and does not establish whether the watches are in stock through other sellers, in other countries or in physical stores.

What does GPS Solar mean on these editions?
Caliber 5X53 combines solar power with GPS satellite data that supports location and time-zone adjustment. Seiko’s description does not mean the watch continuously tracks its wearer. The collaboration builds on the Astron GPS Solar line, which Seiko says launched in September 2012.

Seiko describes Resident Evil: Death Island as a computer-animated feature in the Resident Evil universe. Its page also states that the franchise has sold over 130 million copies worldwide; Seiko does not give a year for that figure on the page, so it should be read as the company’s stated figure rather than a dated current total.
