Who was Sean O’Haire?
Sean Christopher Haire performed professionally under the name Sean O’Haire. He competed in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and later appeared in WWE. WWE’s condolence notice says he was under contract with the company from 2001 to 2004: WWE’s notice.
His career is often described as promising, but that word is an assessment, not a measurable result. The available reporting documents notable wrestling work and a later move into combat sports; it does not establish what his career might otherwise have become.

The Washington Post reported that O’Haire was a three-time WCW World Tag Team Champion. That distinction, alongside his WWE appearances, helps explain why wrestling fans remember him. WWE identifies his contract years as 2001–2004, but its notice does not explain why his run ended. The reporting cited here does not establish the reasons, so it would be misleading to attribute his later career path to a particular setback or decision by WWE.
What did Sean O’Haire do after WWE?
After professional wrestling, O’Haire’s work included kickboxing and mixed martial arts, according to The Washington Post. That later combat-sports chapter is part of his career, but the available account does not provide enough detail to compare his results across those sports or promotions.

When and where did Sean O’Haire die?
His funeral-home obituary records that O’Haire died at home in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on September 8, 2014, at age 43: the obituary. Initial news reports published after that date described officials investigating and awaiting examination and toxicology results. The dates are not contradictory: the obituary gives the recorded date of death, while the news coverage reports the investigation’s status when those stories appeared.
What is known about the cause of death?
Contemporaneous reports did not give a final cause or manner of death. An Associated Press report published September 10, 2014, said the coroner and police were investigating and that examination and toxicology results were pending: the AP report carried by CBS Sacramento. TheWrap likewise reported that the coroner’s office had not yet received those results: TheWrap’s report.
