What were the allegations and charges?
Florida arrest allegations
The Florida arrest warrants described allegations including an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft and identity theft. These were allegations at the time of arrest, not findings of guilt. The federal indictment that followed was a separate case, and its charges should not be conflated with the state allegations.

Federal indictment
On July 19, 2024, a Miami grand jury charged Kingston and Turner with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five wire-fraud counts each. At the charging stage, the Justice Department emphasized that an indictment contains allegations and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. U.S. Department of Justice
What prosecutors said the scheme involved
According to Justice Department accounts of the prosecution and trial evidence, from April 2023 through March 2024 Kingston contacted sellers through social media to arrange purchases of high-end merchandise. He invited sellers to homes in Broward County and, prosecutors said, used his celebrity status, social-media promotion or referrals from other celebrities to gain their trust.

When payment came due, prosecutors said Kingston or Turner sent fake wire-transfer receipts, although the funds had not been transferred. The goods identified in the federal case included a bulletproof Escalade, watches and a 232-inch LED television. The Justice Department said victims often went unpaid or received payment only after lawsuits or law-enforcement involvement. U.S. Department of Justice U.S. Department of Justice
