A jury convicted him on two prostitution-related transportation counts and acquitted him on racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges on July 2, 2025. A 2026 report says he was sentenced to 50 months in prison. His appeal was argued on April 9, 2026, but the latest appellate material verified for this update does not establish whether the court has since ruled.
When did the trial happen?
The case was tried in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York before Judge Arun Subramanian. Jury selection began May 5, 2025, testimony began May 12, and the jury returned its verdict on July 2, 2025. The Associated Press reported the verdict and its outcome; the court docket records the trial proceedings.
What was Combs convicted of, and what was he acquitted of?
The verdict was split: the jury found Combs guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and not guilty on three other counts. The docket identifies the guilty verdicts as counts 3sss and 5sss, and the not-guilty verdicts as counts 1sss, 2sss and 4sss. The acquittals included racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. That distinction matters: the jury convicted Combs on the two transportation counts, but acquitted him on the racketeering-conspiracy and sex-trafficking counts. The verdict should not be described as proving allegations attached to charges on which he was acquitted.

What sentence did he receive?
The court had scheduled sentencing for October 3, 2025. A LegalClarity article published in 2026 reports a 50-month federal prison sentence. That figure is reported by the secondary source; the docket information cited here establishes the scheduled sentencing date, not the sentence term.
What is the status of Combs’s appeal?
Combs appealed his conviction and sentence. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit heard oral argument on April 9, 2026. The Associated Press reported that the three-judge panel did not rule immediately; Judge William Nardini described the case as exceptionally difficult and said it raised an issue of first impression. AP’s account of the hearing and DiddyDocket’s appeal page say the panel reserved its decision.
