On July 1, 2025, jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’s federal trial told the court they had reached a verdict on four of the five counts but could not agree on the racketeering-conspiracy charge. Judge Arun Subramanian instructed them to continue deliberating. The partial findings were not made public that day, so the announcement did not reveal which charges had been decided or their outcomes.
What the jury reported on July 1
The jury’s note said it had reached agreement on four counts and remained divided on racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors, defense lawyers and the judge concluded deliberations should continue, rather than end with the unresolved count. The Associated Press reported the court’s response on July 1, 2025: AP’s account of the jury’s note and the judge’s instruction.
Although contemporary coverage described the four decided counts as the two sex-trafficking charges and two transportation-to-engage-in-prostitution charges, jurors’ findings were not disclosed that day. “Partial verdict” therefore meant only that the jury had reached agreement on some counts—not that Combs had been publicly found guilty or not guilty of any particular charge.

The categories matter because the July 1 disagreement concerned racketeering conspiracy, while the other four counts had reached a decision that remained confidential until the jury returned its complete verdict. The jury’s note and the count categories were reported in contemporaneous coverage, including CBS News’s July 1 report and follow-up.
The completed verdict, announced July 2
On July 2, 2025, the jury completed deliberations. It found Combs guilty on both transportation counts and not guilty on racketeering conspiracy and both sex-trafficking counts. The two transportation counts concerned Cassie Ventura and a former girlfriend who testified under the pseudonym “Jane,” according to Georgia Public Broadcasting’s July 2 report, based on Associated Press coverage.

A later opinion from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York describes the convictions as two Mann Act transportation counts. It identifies the trial as an eight-week proceeding: the court’s September 30, 2025 opinion and order.

The July 1 update was procedural, not the final result. At that point, the public knew jurors had agreed on four counts and were still deliberating on one; they did not know the four outcomes. The full verdict came the following day, with two convictions on transportation charges and acquittals on the racketeering-conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges. Those later outcomes should not be attributed to the July 1 announcement.
