Sean “Diddy” Combs’s federal trial is over: on July 2, 2025, a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The verdict followed an eight-week trial. Those outcomes matter: the indictment’s broader allegations were not all findings of guilt.
What were the federal charges against Combs?
On September 17, 2024, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced that Combs had been charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. These were allegations in an indictment, not findings that he was guilty. The office cautioned: “The charges contained in the Indictment are merely accusations.” Read the charging announcement.
