Phillip said he witnessed Combs throw a bottle at Ventura and drag her by the hair during an encounter; Florez described responding to a hotel distress report in 2016, seeing Ventura injured and rejecting what he said was an attempted bribe. These were witness accounts, not findings that the jury made about every allegation in the case.
What did Daniel Phillip testify to?
Phillip, a male escort, testified that Combs paid him as much as $6,000 each time he had sex with Ventura while Combs watched. The amount and events are Phillip’s testimony as reported by ABC News, not an independently audited payment record or a separate jury finding.
Phillip said he saw Combs throw a bottle that hit a wall, then grab Ventura by the hair and drag her toward a bedroom after she did not immediately follow instructions. As ABC reported his testimony, Phillip said: “Mr. Combs came out of the room, and I just saw a bottle fly past her and hit the wall,” he said. “He grabbed her by her hair, and started dragging her by her hair into her bedroom.”
Phillip testified that he did not feel comfortable intervening because of the power imbalance. He described his fear this way: “My thoughts was that this was someone with unlimited power, and chances are that even if I did go to the police, that I might still end up losing my life.”

What did Israel Florez testify to?
Florez, a hotel security guard, testified that he responded to a report of a woman in distress at the InterContinental Hotel Century City in Los Angeles on March 5, 2016. He was just looking at me,” according to ABC News.

What evidence did jurors see?
Prosecutors introduced video of the March 5 hotel incident. The defense objected to its use, but the judge allowed jurors to view it, ABC reported. Florez’s account and the video relate to the hotel incident; they are distinct from the encounter Phillip described.

Combs denied wrongdoing, and the defense argued that the sexual relationships were consensual and denied that he sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone. The jury’s July 2, 2025 verdict convicted him on two transportation counts and acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and two sex-trafficking counts. On September 30, 2025, a judge rejected his bid to overturn the convictions, Reuters reported via Investing.com. The witnesses’ statements should therefore be understood as testimony in a trial with mixed verdicts, not as proof that the jury convicted Combs of charges on which it acquitted him.
