Well do I have a story for you.” The comment alluded to Corby’s own high-profile history involving Qantas, but it did not establish who took Warner’s backpack or that the airline was responsible.
What happened to David Warner’s Baggy Green?
After the Boxing Day Test, Warner said his backpack had gone missing while his luggage travelled from Melbourne to Sydney on Qantas. In an appeal reproduced by PerthNow on January 2, 2024, he said the backpack had contained his Baggy Green and had been removed from his main luggage. That was Warner’s account; the reports did not independently establish how the bag went missing.
Warner said Qantas had reviewed camera footage but that there were blind spots. He asked anyone with information to contact him or Cricket Australia, and offered a spare backpack in exchange for the cap. He wrote, “I would be grateful if this were returned asap. Thanks.”
What did Schapelle Corby say?
Corby commented beneath Warner’s Instagram appeal: “Qantas! Well do I have a story for you,” PerthNow reported. Pedestrian.TV also reported the exchange, transcribing the line with a space before the exclamation mark: “Qantas ! Well do I have a story for you.”

The remark was an allusion, not evidence about Warner’s missing bag. Corby is associated with a high-profile cannabis case in Indonesia and time in a Bali prison; that background helps explain why her reference to Qantas caught attention. The story reports a joke under Warner’s post, not a claim that Corby had information about the backpack.
Why the timing mattered
The appeal appeared as Warner prepared for his final Test for Australia, against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Guardian reported that his farewell followed 112 Tests. The Baggy Green, which Warner said he first received in 2011 before his Test debut, was therefore not simply another piece of luggage to him: his appeal described it as highly sentimental.
