The announced Steam and Epic re-release of Scarface: The World Is Yours is not a confirmed current release. EC Digital Entertainment said on October 22, 2025, that the storefront page was a placeholder and that it was pausing the project while it reevaluated licensing and technical matters. The optional free HD graphics mode was a proposed feature, not an upgrade shown to have shipped.
What was announced for PC?
On October 22, 2025, EC Digital Entertainment announced plans to bring Scarface: The World Is Yours to Steam and the Epic Games Store. The 2006 open-world action-adventure is the game at issue—not a new Scarface title. Gematsu reported the announcement and said the Epic listing had briefly appeared live; the publisher described that appearance as an unintended release during backend configuration.
Was the HD graphics mode released?
No confirmed final release or delivered HD mode is established by the available announcements. The proposed PC edition was to offer an optional, free HD graphics mode as downloadable content, using AI-assisted techniques to improve certain visual elements. Players were reportedly meant to be able to switch between the original and enhanced visuals. These were announced plans; no released version was tested in the cited coverage.
Why did the Steam and Epic listings disappear?
In an October 22, 2025 Steam community notice, EC Digital said the page had initially been intended as a placeholder while it worked through licensing and technical matters. It also said builds unintentionally released on other platforms had caused complications, and that the project would pause for reevaluation. The publisher added: “If things change and we’re able to bring the project back in the future, we’ll let you know right away.”

What is known—and not known—about a possible return?
The publisher’s notice says the project was paused, not that it was permanently cancelled. The sources cited here do not establish a confirmed release date, a resolved licensing status, or a subsequent return to Steam or Epic. They also do not settle public questions about rights or Windows 10 and 11 compatibility. Treat any claim that the relaunch is already available, definitively unauthorized, or permanently dead as unconfirmed by these sources.

How does the proposed PC edition differ from the original game?
The original Scarface: The World Is Yours launched on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC in 2006, followed by Wii in 2007, according to Gematsu. The proposed PC re-release would have been a new digital storefront edition with the optional HD mode; the original PS2 game is a separate physical release. Gematsu and PC Gamer reported that the early Epic build appeared to include SilentPatch and Fusion Fix, but that observation about an unintended early build does not guarantee what any future release might contain.
