Remix Arcade
The PS5 release introduced Remix Arcade, a mode PlayStation described as PS5-exclusive at launch. It draws on a selection of the game’s songs to create endlessly replayable levels focused on chasing high scores. That exclusivity changed with the later Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: developer Simogo says that edition also includes Remix Arcade, having launched on April 23, 2026. Visuals, frame rate, and haptics
PlayStation announced upgraded 4K visuals, performance of up to 120 FPS, and haptic feedback for PS5. “Up to” is important: these are platform feature claims from PlayStation’s announcement, not independently measured results or a guarantee that every scene runs at 120 FPS.
How does the gameplay work?
The levels change form as the music moves forward: a sequence can shift between collecting objects, shooting, racing, and platforming. In a 2019 PlayStation Editors’ Choice article, Digital Commerce Manager Andy Yen described the controls as one button and one analog stick, and the roughly two dozen levels as short, approximately two to four minutes each. The original songs are sequenced to give the game an album-like flow, while the shifting challenges keep its arcade play varied. Score tiers reward replaying levels, and Yen noted that the game offers assistance after repeated failures. That combination makes it approachable to play through while still giving score-focused players a reason to return.
Can you upgrade the PS4 version to PS5 for free?
PlayStation announced a free PS4-to-PS5 upgrade for owners whose PS4 and PS5 platforms are linked to the same account. The announcement does not establish eligibility for every purchase or account arrangement, so check the current PlayStation Store listing and your account’s upgrade options if your setup differs.

How does the PS5 edition compare with Switch 2?
Both editions have official claims for 4K and up to 120 FPS, and both include Remix Arcade. The timing matters: PlayStation called Remix Arcade PS5-exclusive in its February 2025 announcement, while Simogo’s April 2026 account says it is included in the Switch 2 Edition as well. The sources establish announced features, not a direct performance comparison.

What about the soundtrack and physical editions?
The soundtrack was composed by Daniel Olsén, Jonathan Eng, and Linnea Olsson. Simogo says it can be streamed or purchased through music services and documents a double-vinyl release through iam8bit. Its developer page says the vinyl is sold out; iam8bit’s Sayonara Wild Hearts collection lists the 2xLP and physical Nintendo Switch and PS4 editions, with the game editions marked sold out. Stock and product listings can change, so check the retailer for current availability. The documented physical game editions are for Switch and PS4, not PS5.
Release history and platforms
Simogo says the original game launched on September 19, 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Apple Arcade, followed by Windows and Xbox One versions. The developer says it left Apple Arcade on August 15, 2024. PlayStation lists Annapurna Interactive as publisher and categorizes the game as Adventure, Music/Rhythm, and Action. These platform and service details reflect Simogo’s published release history; check storefronts for present availability.
