On 7 July 2025, PerthNow reported that Sam Kerr was in Perth with her fiancée, Kristie Mewis, and their two-month-old son, Jagger. The family outing came while Kerr was home during the Matildas’ Western Australia fixtures.
What PerthNow reported about the Perth outing
According to PerthNow’s 7 July 2025 report, Kerr and Mewis had brunch with Kerr’s parents. Mewis was pictured carrying Jagger in a baby carrier.
The report said the family later caught up with Kerr’s Matildas teammate Emily Van Egmond and shopped for nappies and baby wipes. Those are details of the reported outing, not endorsements of any products. The account has not been independently verified here.
Jagger’s birth announcement
On 8 May 2025, ABC News reported that Kerr and Mewis had announced the birth of their son, naming him Jagger Mewis-Kerr. The outlet quoted Kerr’s announcement: “Our little man is here, Jagger Mewis-Kerr.”

Why “fiancée” is specific to the 2025 story
PerthNow described Mewis as Kerr’s fiancée in its July 2025 outing report. A later PerthNow profile published 26 August 2026 described Mewis as Kerr’s wife and Jagger as one year old. The earlier label belongs to the 2025 report, rather than describing their later status.

The July 2025 story said Kerr was in Perth during the Matildas’ Western Australia fixtures but was not included in the 33-player squad for four friendlies while recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury. That is a description of her situation in 2025, not a statement about her current availability or team status.
