A follow-up report said the couple had arrived in Perth on 28 December and later celebrated their engagement with family and friends at The Raffle Hotel in Applecross.
What PerthNow reported about the Fremantle sighting
PerthNow’s 31 December 2023 report said Kerr and Mewis spent the day at a Fremantle beach and were seen walking home afterward. It identified Mewis as Kerr’s fiancée and placed the visit in the context of their recently announced engagement. The report also noted that Kerr had shared a photo from the proposal weeks earlier. Arrival in Perth and engagement celebration
In a follow-up published on 2 January 2024, PerthNow reported that Kerr and Mewis had landed in Perth on 28 December. It described a later swim in Fremantle with their family dog and called the New Year’s Eve beach appearance one of three sightings since their arrival.
The follow-up said the couple walked home from the beach in bikinis before going to The Raffle Hotel in Applecross to celebrate their engagement with close friends and family. The report attributed two remarks to Kerr at the gathering: “It is great to celebrate all of us, family, friends, everyone,” and “Thanks everyone, we can’t wait for the wedding.” Read PerthNow’s follow-up.

The footwear mentioned in the original report
The original article named Balenciaga slides worn by Kerr and Versace slides worn by Mewis, but did not identify either model. It reported prices of $630 for Kerr’s slides and $260 for Mewis’s. Those figures are prices stated in the 2023 report, not verified current prices; the article does not establish that either pair is still sold at those amounts.
