Brock Lesnar was widely reported as WWE’s highest-paid star in 2023, at approximately $12 million in annual WWE compensation. Roman Reigns was generally listed next at about $5 million, with Seth Rollins and Randy Orton each estimated at roughly $4.5 million.
Those figures are not official WWE salary disclosures. Individual contracts are private, and media rankings may combine guarantees, performance fees, bonuses, and merchandise-related payments.
Brock Lesnar was widely reported as WWE’s highest-paid star in 2023, with estimated annual WWE compensation of about $12 million. Roman Reigns followed at approximately $5 million, while Seth Rollins and Randy Orton were each commonly listed at about $4.5 million.
These are media and industry estimates—not an official WWE payroll ranking. WWE does not publish a complete wrestler-by-wrestler salary ledger, and reported figures may combine guaranteed contract money, performance fees, bonuses, merchandise royalties, and other payments. They should not be read as audited earnings, take-home pay, net worth, or income from acting, endorsements, UFC, or other work outside WWE.

Reported WWE salaries in 2023
| Reported rank | Performer | Estimated annual WWE compensation | How to interpret the figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brock Lesnar | Approximately $12 million | Widely repeated 2023 estimate; not confirmed in an individual WWE filing. |
| 2 | Roman Reigns | Approximately $5 million | Repeated in several salary reports and consistent with earlier reporting about his WWE guarantee. |
| 3–4 | Seth Rollins | Approximately $4.5 million | Listed at this level by multiple 2023 salary roundups. |
| 3–4 | Randy Orton | Approximately $4.5 million | A reported contract estimate, even though injury-related absences affect how annual pay is interpreted. |
| 5 | AJ Styles | Approximately $3.5 million | Appeared in a June 2023 top-five salary ranking; the estimate is less consistently documented than the top four. |
| 6 | Triple H | Approximately $3.5 million | Broad-list estimate that may reflect executive compensation rather than wrestler-only pay. |
| 7 | Becky Lynch | Approximately $3.1 million | Reported in a late-2023 ranking; individual contract terms remain private. |
| 8–9 | The Miz | Approximately $2.5 million | Broad media estimate. |
| 8–9 | The Undertaker | Approximately $2.5 million | Estimate for a retired or legend performer; not directly comparable with active-roster pay. |
| 10 | Kevin Owens | Approximately $2 million | Broad media estimate with limited public detail about its components. |
The top five names—Lesnar, Reigns, Rollins, Orton, and Styles—are the most useful comparison set in the available 2023 reporting. The ordering becomes less reliable below AJ Styles because different lists count executive pay, legends contracts, appearance fees, royalties, and bonuses differently.
Who was WWE’s highest-paid star in 2023?
Brock Lesnar was the reported leader, at approximately $12 million for an annual WWE compensation estimate. That figure was substantially higher than the approximately $5 million commonly attributed to Roman Reigns.
The wording matters. The available evidence supports saying that Lesnar was widely reported to have a roughly $12 million annual WWE deal or compensation estimate. It does not support claiming that WWE verified he received exactly $12 million during the 2023 calendar year. A contract’s annual value, a downside guarantee, and actual cash paid during a particular year can be different numbers.
How much did Roman Reigns reportedly make?
Roman Reigns was commonly reported at approximately $5 million per year in WWE compensation. He was therefore the most consistently reported active star behind Lesnar in 2023.
Reports about Reigns have also referred to a WWE downside guarantee. A downside guarantee is the minimum contractual amount a performer is entitled to receive under specified terms; it is not necessarily the same thing as total annual income. Match-related payments, merchandise revenue, bonuses, and other provisions can affect the final amount.

Seth Rollins and Randy Orton were reported at about $4.5 million
Two separate 2023 ranking reports placed Seth Rollins and Randy Orton at approximately $4.5 million each. That makes them the next tier below Reigns in the recurring estimates.
Orton’s inclusion illustrates why these lists should not be treated as a simple count of matches wrestled in 2023. A wrestler may continue to receive contracted compensation during an injury absence, depending on the agreement. The public reports do not provide enough detail to separate Orton’s guarantee, performance payments, merchandising income, or any timing differences.
AJ Styles, Becky Lynch, and the second tier
AJ Styles was listed at approximately $3.5 million in a June 2023 top-five ranking. His estimate is plausible within the published hierarchy but is supported less consistently than the figures for Lesnar, Reigns, Rollins, and Orton.

Becky Lynch appeared in a late-2023 ranking at approximately $3.1 million. That would make her the highest-listed woman in the supplied estimates. As with every other performer here, WWE has not publicly released the individual contract terms needed to verify the number.
Kevin Owens was listed at approximately $2 million. This is a broad media estimate, not a disclosed payroll amount.

Why Triple H and The Undertaker are difficult comparisons
Some salary lists include people whose current relationship with WWE is not the same as that of an active wrestler:
- Triple H was WWE’s Chief Content Officer in 2023. A reported $3.5 million figure may include executive compensation and should not be presented as a standard wrestler salary.
- The Undertaker was a retired or legend performer. A reported $2.5 million may involve appearances, a legends arrangement, licensing, merchandise, or other contractual payments rather than the annual pay of an active full-time roster member.
Their inclusion is not necessarily wrong, but it changes the question. A list of “WWE’s highest-earning stars” can include prominent former performers and executives; a list of “active WWE wrestlers’ base salaries” should not mix those categories without clear labeling.

What a WWE “salary” can include
WWE compensation is better understood as a package than as a conventional salaried job. Depending on the performer’s contract, reported annual compensation may include:
- Downside guarantee or base contract amount: the guaranteed minimum paid under the contract’s terms.
- Performance or appearance fees: payments connected to matches, events, promotional appearances, or other services.
- Merchandise royalties: payments that may be tied to sales of shirts, action figures, title-related products, and other branded goods.
- Bonuses: additional compensation connected to events, achievements, business results, or contractual milestones.
- Other contractual payments: provisions that may not be visible in a media salary roundup.
Older reporting on WWE’s highest-paid performers used a combination of baseline income, performance fees, and merchandise sales. That methodology explains why a reported annual figure should not automatically be described as a wrestler’s “base salary.” It may be closer to an estimated total WWE compensation package.
Why WWE does not have an official public salary ranking
Individual WWE contracts are generally private. Contract length, guarantees, benefits, royalties, and related terms are not fully disclosed for every performer. Media outlets therefore reconstruct rankings from reported contract values, industry sources, prior disclosures, and estimates.

WWE’s move into TKO Group Holdings did not create a complete public wrestler-payroll table. TKO’s corporate filings can provide company-level financial information and details about certain executive compensation matters, but they do not establish a definitive wrestler-by-wrestler ranking for 2023.

The reported hierarchy suggests that WWE’s biggest contractual earners in 2023 were concentrated among its most prominent attractions: Lesnar at the top, Reigns as the leading full-time-era star in the estimates, and established headliners such as Rollins, Orton, and Styles close behind.
It does not prove:
- that every listed performer received exactly the stated amount in calendar year 2023;
- that the figures represent take-home pay after taxes, agents, trainers, travel, or other expenses;
- that the estimates include income from films, television, endorsements, UFC, investments, or independent projects;
- that a lower-ranked wrestler was less valuable to WWE in every business category; or
- that merchandise sales translate directly into a documented royalty paid to a particular performer.
For fans: merchandise is related, but not proof of salary
Merchandise is one possible component of a WWE performer’s compensation, but buying a product does not establish how much money reaches the wrestler. Royalty terms vary and are not publicly documented for every item or performer.
Fans looking for products connected to the names in this ranking can browse WWE action figures, including figures featuring current and legendary performers. Collectors can also look for a WWE championship belt or toy title belt associated with the championships and storylines surrounding stars such as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. These are fan products, not evidence that a particular performer received a specific royalty from a sale.

AJ Styles, Triple H, Becky Lynch, The Miz, The Undertaker, and Kevin Owens filled out broader top-ten lists.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much did Brock Lesnar make in WWE in 2023?
Brock Lesnar was widely reported to have approximately $12 million in annual WWE compensation in 2023. That is a media and industry estimate, not an audited amount or an official WWE disclosure.
How much did Roman Reigns make in WWE in 2023?
Roman Reigns was commonly reported at approximately $5 million in annual WWE compensation in 2023. The estimate may include his contract guarantee and other contractual payments, rather than base salary alone.
Are WWE wrestler salaries publicly confirmed?
No. WWE does not publish a complete individual wrestler salary ledger. Public rankings are estimates assembled from media reports and industry information.
What does a WWE salary estimate include?
Not necessarily. A reported annual compensation figure can include a downside guarantee, appearance or performance fees, bonuses, and merchandise royalties. It should not be treated as net worth, take-home pay, or income from outside WWE.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Brock Lesnar was widely reported to lead WWE’s 2023 pay estimates at approximately $12 million, ahead of Roman Reigns at about $5 million. Because WWE does not publish individual wrestler contracts, these numbers may combine guarantees, performance fees, bonuses, and merchandise-related payments rather than represent verified base salaries or take-home income.
