That was Sage’s description of how the interaction felt—not proof that jurors deliberately misled or manipulated her.
What Sage said happened at final Tribal Council
In a Dec. 19, 2025, interview with TVLine, Sage recalled eye rolls and arguments with her answers during final Tribal Council. She said those exchanges left her thinking people wanted to hurt her. She described feeling overwhelmed and confused as she tried to respond to the jury.
In a separate post-finale interview with Entertainment Weekly, syndicated by Yahoo, Sage summarized the emotional effect: “It felt like I was being gaslit.” She was describing the contrast she perceived between the jury’s treatment of her during questioning and the comfort she received afterward. The quote conveys her experience; it does not establish the jurors’ intentions or independently verify deliberate gaslighting.
Why Sage said the after-show felt confusing
Sage said the kindness she encountered after the questioning did not fit with how she had experienced the jury’s reactions. That mismatch—not a demonstrated finding about anyone’s motive—is what made the moment feel disorienting to her.

She also said she tried to speak with castmates after filming in Fiji to understand what had not appeared on screen. Some were not ready to talk, she said, and she respected that. Sage said Sophie Segreti reached out before the season aired; she had not spoken with some other castmates.
What the finale edit may not have shown
Sage said in an RHAP exit interview that she sensed the jury did not like her and that the televised Tribal Council did not show the full extent of what she experienced. That transcript is another record of Sage’s own perspective, not independent confirmation of the jury’s feelings.

Rizo Velovic offered a separate view in a post-finale report from E!: he said the finale edit did not show the full scope of jury anger toward Sage over her gameplay. That is Rizo’s account of what viewers missed, not an objective account of every juror’s feelings. Neither interview establishes why the editors made particular choices.
| Speaker | What they said the broadcast left out | What the account establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Sage Ahrens-Nichols | She said the televised Tribal Council did not show the full extent of what she experienced, including reactions she perceived as disdain. | Her first-person account of how the interaction felt to her; it does not establish juror intent. |
| Rizo Velovic, as reported by E! | He said the finale edit omitted the full scope of jury anger toward Sage’s gameplay. | Rizo’s perspective on the edit; it does not establish every juror’s view or the editors’ motives. |
What viewers can—and cannot—conclude
The accounts point to a gap between what Sage said she experienced in the room and what viewers saw in the broadcast. Her description centers on perceived hostility followed by comfort; Rizo’s comment concerns anger over her gameplay that he felt the edit left out. Both are castaways’ perspectives on an edited event. The available accounts do not establish the jury’s intentions or explain the editors’ decisions.
