The teaser campaign appears to have introduced Sabrina Carpenter’s single “Manchild,” announced on June 3, 2025, after a teaser video posted the previous day. The sources available here do not confirm the specific visual detail in the original headline, so it should not be treated as established fact.
What the teaser was promoting
Universal Music’s artist news page says Carpenter teased “Manchild” on social media on June 2, 2025. The Los Angeles Times reported the next day that she announced the single following a teaser video posted Monday. Her announcement caption, quoted by the newspaper, read: “This one’s about you!!”
Universal Music also reproduces Carpenter’s account of writing the song with Amy and Jack on a Tuesday not long after finishing Short n’ Sweet. She described it as a soundtrack to “the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.”
What is—and is not—confirmed about the clip
The cited reports establish the teaser’s date and its connection to “Manchild,” but they do not independently verify the headline’s claim about what Carpenter showed in the clip. Without confirmation from the original video, that specific description remains unsubstantiated.

That distinction matters because coverage of the later official video describes a different release. ABC News characterized the “Manchild” video as a surreal road trip in which Carpenter hitchhikes and gets rides with men in unusual vehicles. That description concerns the released music video, not necessarily the June 2 teaser.
“Manchild” release timeline
- June 2, 2025: Universal Music dates Carpenter’s social-media teaser for “Manchild” to this day.
- June 3, 2025: The Los Angeles Times reports her single announcement and quotes its caption.
- June 5, 2025: Carpenter’s official website lists “Manchild (Official Video)” with this date. Billboard Philippines also reported that the single was released June 5 and that the video premiered on her official YouTube channel.
Was there a physical edition?
The Los Angeles Times reported a special 7-inch vinyl format for “Manchild.” That confirms the reported format, not whether copies are currently in stock at any particular retailer.
