The pair performed Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man” and “What a Girl Wants.”
What songs did Sabrina Carpenter and Christina Aguilera perform?
Aguilera joined Carpenter for “Ain’t No Other Man,” followed by “What a Girl Wants.” The Los Angeles Times identified the concert as the first of three sold-out Los Angeles dates on Carpenter’s tour; ABC News also reported the surprise appearance and both songs.
After Aguilera left the stage, Carpenter reacted, “So, that just happened. And somehow the show continues,” according to the Los Angeles Times’ November 16, 2024 review.
Why “What a Girl Wants” was a fitting choice
The song linked the surprise performance to a recent collaboration: Carpenter and Aguilera had recorded a live version of “What A Girl Wants” for the 25th-anniversary celebration of Aguilera’s self-titled debut album. Sony Music Canada announced on November 29, 2024, that the anniversary live EP, released November 21, was available on digital platforms. Its tracklist includes “What A Girl Wants ft. Sabrina Carpenter (Live) – Spotify Anniversaries Version.” Sony describes the filmed session as featuring reimagined and acoustic performances. Sony Music Canada’s release announcement lists the track and release details.

Carpenter’s reaction to the surprise guest
The next day, Carpenter shared a video and thanked Aguilera, describing her as one of the reasons she loves and wanted to make pop music. ABC News reproduced her caption: “LA night 1💋 thank you @xtina for coming out last night, giving everyone (me included) the surprise of our lives, and for being one of the main reasons I love + wanted to make pop music, I adore you to no end!!!!!” Read ABC News’ November 16, 2024 report.
When and where did Aguilera join Carpenter?
The appearance took place on November 15, 2024, at Crypto.com Arena, during Carpenter’s first Los Angeles show on the final U.S. leg of the Short n’ Sweet tour. The Los Angeles Times review places the performance at Crypto.com Arena. Sony Music Canada’s announcement names the Kia Forum, but that conflicts with the venue-specific contemporaneous review; the November 15 appearance was at Crypto.com Arena.
